Comments Thread For: Artur Beterbiev-Callum Smith: Anything But The Only Thing

By Cliff Rold - Maybe former WBA super middleweight titlist Callum Smith (29-1, 21 KO) has a big upset in him. The 33-year old has looked sharper and quicker than he did in gaining a controversial decision against John Ryder and being blown out over twelve rounds versus Saul Alvarez at 168 pounds. Standing 6'3, the extra eight pounds at light heavyweight appears a better home for him.

Over 10000 tickets already sold for King Artur’s homecoming
Do your thing champ , chalk up another KO for all to witness
    And on to unification
    War Beterbiev

I'm certainly not counting Smith out here, his age hight & reach advantages could be a key factor & if his left hook lands it could well do more damage than Callum Johnson's KD!

And I will place a few tenners on him to win inside five rounds, for good measure.

Outside of Joe Smith, most top-tier, Browne, Yarde, Gvoz, etc, fighters last about 8-10 rounds with Beterbiev. Smith is going to box and try to counter, so I'm thinking 6-9 unless he closes his eyes and catches Beterbiev with something he can't recover from

I don’t think this is a favourable matchup at all for Callum tbh.

I expect Artur to break him down and stop him late.

I can't see how Smith is going to keep Beterbiev of him, not only does he hit hard he throws a lot of punches, saying that I'll put a bet on Smith getting a stoppage.

if a punch lands by Smith it will not be a Smith and Wesson type not even close it will bounce off Beter like a old Superman episode ..... i hope it lasts a while and i hope there is a lotta blood, a hard fought but useless push by Smith and then down he goes in round number seven for the third time tonight............i like the fight bc it is a fight with Beter in it and the under card has a chance of showing something. Prove me wrong Smitty and i will be surprised very surprised.....

Bebertiev is a boiled down heavyweight from amateur days ruling the roost among light heavies. Also his looping shots catch opponents on the side to the back of the skull. Not cool.
