Nobody avoided him, he did the avoiding. Nobody goes 32 fights and 35 years before they face their first legitimate world titlist by accident; especially not a two-division titlist like Andrade. His career is the quintessential example of a cherry picker. He went life and death with Euro title level guys like Culcay, Sulecki, Williams, and Martrosyan. That's his level, and that's why he carefully avoided fighting guys like Charlo, Korobov, Janibek, or Lara. And that's why he quit on his stool 6 rounds in the first time he actually had to try to take a title off an active champion rather than just winning a vacant belt against a nobody and then defending it against worse nobodies.

Andrade has the most pathetic resume of any "world titlist" I have ever seen in my 30 years of watching boxing. Truly a clown.

Wow he wants to fight Lara and make the most boring fight in boxing history. Now wonder showtime and HBO are finished with boxing.

Good job though Boo Boo. Running down to 160. Guess the Canelo ducking you nonsense is down the toilet.

I can't believe Andrade could even make that claim with a straight face.

Andrade vs world titlists (not including Regular/interim):
L vs David Benavidez RTD 6

Canelo vs world titlists (not including Regular/interim):

W vs Miguel Vazquez UD 10
W vs Carlos Baldomir KO 6
            W vs Lovemore N'dou UD 12
W vs Kermit Cintron TKO 5
W vs Shane Mosley UD 12
L vs Floyd Mayweather Jr MD 12
W vs Erislandy Lara SD 12
W vs Miguel Cotto UD 12
            W Amir Khan KO 6
W vs Liam Smith KO 9
W vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr UD 12
D vs Gennadiy Golovkin SD 12
W vs Gennadiy Golovkin MD 12
W vs Danny Jacobs UD 12
W vs Sergey Kovalev KO 11
W vs Callum Smith UD 12
W vs Billy Joe Saunders RTD 8
W vs Caleb Plant TKO 11
L vs Dmitry Bivol UD 12
W vs Gennadiy Golovkin UD 12
W vs Jermell Charlo UD 12

Even with a couple of gift decisions going his way, Canelo still has a resume beyond reproach. The idea that he'd be afraid to fight a bum like Andrade is laughable.

Or he'd have already been exposed. I've been saying the whole time that there's a reason he's managed to have NEVER fought so much as a secondary titlist until now, and turned down every high level opponent he's ever been offered, excepting BJS, who popped for PEDs anyways. Hype job par excellence. We didn't know how he'd look at the highest level because he'd never fought there. Now we do.

Andrade moved up and fought someone 2 classes bigger. Benavidez was a cruiserweight that night. Sport of boxing need to start imposing mandatory weigh ins on fight day, and give the fighter an automatic loss on record if he falls outside the weight class
