Yeah, it never sounded right criticizing streaming services, which skeptics call apps. Cable is becoming obsolete. Even landlines are becoming irrelevant in favor of VoIP connection.

It's not like SHO's PPVs were a drastic improvement though.
The majority of us don't have an issue with PBC on Prime because we already have Prime, so PBC is basically a supplement. I think this is a clever way of PBC shielding themselves, and proves that DAZN/ESPN were not realistic destinations. DAZN/ESPN lives and dies on its sport content, so PBC would arguably be under more pressure to be consistent and to play well with the promoters already on those platforms. Amazon will definitely have their own expectations, so we'll see what PBC is allowed to get away with.

I’m glad to see this. I don’t have prime but will definitely get it for this. I’m surprised no one has considered that maybe PBC was already scheduled to leave Showtime by 2024 and by doing so it forced Showtime to close its doors on boxing.tkoboxingscene Oldskoolg like this.

So they’ll be no PBC fights until March? Did I read that correctly? If so, that’s a bummer. Hopefully Amazon reallocates some of the Thursday night football resources towards boxing. Their telecast is usually great.

I have about 5 big screen smart TVs in and outside my home including the backyard underneath the covered deck. The problem isn’t watching it on an app, the problem is many pbc fans didn’t want to throw in their lot with Eddie Hearn back in 2018 when he came as the representative for dazn. Had dazn presented itself with a different face, a more diplomatic face, a face that sought to bring everyone on bard rather than out pbc out of business while claiming the “American takeover”, I strongly believe boxing in the USA would look differently than it does now. Regarding Amazon, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have it and most of the people I know are 50-70 years of age and are American, British, Irish. I don’t know how this amazon deal will turn out, but it gives boxing a much larger reach than it had yesterday. Comparing Amazon to dazn is like comparing the the SAS to the Girl Scouts.
