He wasn't hurt by the punch that knocked him down, but the one that came before him, that caused him to start moving and backing up. At least that's what I think. I will say that I believe Froch recovers quickly.

Dirrell, despite his unproven power at this level, could hurt Froch. To do it, he has to catch Froch coming in, or when he lunges or over extends, causing Froch to walk into shots. JT was able to shake him up at the end of round eight doing something similar.

If Jermain Taylor, who has the worst conditioning in boxing, can make it to the final 15 seconds against Froch I am pretty sure that Dirrell, who will be in great shape, will be able to make it the final bell if he doesn't get the KO first.
Taylor was already KO brutally against Pavlik. Then he faded in the rematch. Even though he beat Lacy, he got tired towards the end of the fight and began to backup from Lacy. Honestly I believe Hopkins ruined Taylor's confidence. Even though he won, Hop talked so much **** about him and told him he wasn't ****. Then fights against Winky and Spinks he was backing up being the bigger man in those fights. Both those guys don't even hit hard.

I don't even believe Pascal was really that hurt against Froch. But Diaconu stunned him well. But he recovered from that.

I give Dirrell a better chance than most do. Skills pay the bills and he knows this is his chance. Froch is talking a lot and Dirrell is in Big Bear being quite. I just hope Froch isn't over looking him.

Yeah but thats obvious of any fight, in a ring, or on the street, don't get me wrong i agree with you but, that's something that despite being obvious, nobody has managed to do to Froch regardless of his so called 'poor defence'.

Well then you will appreciate Dirrell stopping Froch the same way.

Yeah mate, don't get me wrong, i appreciate your knowledge, and respect it, but, i think, Froch, i just can't see it, i am willing to put all available points that he doesn't get KO'd. I 'd love to say he won't go down but anything can happen.

I pointed that out specifically because that's the only was I see Dirrell hurting him.

I agree that he hasn't been on verge of going out, yet, but I think Taylor was able to hurt him, and that there was one or two points in the Pascal fight when he was stunned.

I'm not saying he is likely to be KO'd. I certainly do not expect it.

I also know that there isn't a really a body of work by Dirrell to be able to justify any outrageous predictions.

I will simply say that the last time I felt this strongly about an underdog winning because of style over power it was Pavlik over Miranda and I was right that time. I have the exact same gut feeling about this fight and I am sticking to it.

I see a lot of advantages to Dirrell in this one, both intangibles and on paper. For one thing Froch will not be able to find any sparring to prepare him for anything close to Andre Dirrell's speed or style. Dirrell will be able to bring in a half dozen guys with Froch's exact skill set. On top of that Froch has been all over the place running his mouth saying ****** ass outrageous ****, even going so far as to accuse Dirrell of being too ****y when he is clearly talking less.

Froch already sees himself and much greater than he really is, Dirrell is still hungry to prove himself and he is showing it by heading to Big Bear and ignoring Froch and his childish insults.

Thats why i hope he wins because he will have shut Froch's big mouth up, but by the same token if he does i hope he looks dog **** doing it so this Dirrell hype will die down.

I have a feeling it's gonna be like Paul Williams.

I started a thread about P-Will way back before he fought Walter Matthyse about how he looked like a solid prospect and I don't think I got a single reply.
Within 6 months everyone and their mom was Paul's #1 fan and I didn't even want to root for him anymore.

Here I am, the original Dirrell fan ( I met him years ago, he is good friend with m my college suitemate Chris Wilson who now plays football for the Redskins) facing the same scenario...
