For all y’all asking where the Spence fans are. Here I am! I said he’d beat Crawford. Didn’t happen. Crawford was the better man. But guess what, I’m still here, I still support Spence. He’s a world class level fighter. Been P4P for years now. And “I” lose nothing from this. So why do “YOU” Crawford fans feel like YOU gained something?! You’re just a bunch of talkers like me. Roger Mayweather was KO'd in 98 seconds at super feather in his first loss, yet went on to have a dominant run at light welter.

Sugar Ray weathered Hearns' storm and stopped him for the first time at welter, yet Hearns would go on to destroy Duran at middleweight in 2 rounds and have a tear of a run besides.

Countless other situations where going up in weight actually improved the fighter especially if they were struggling to make the weight, as Spence repeatedly said he was even going into the Ugas fight.

Look at Haney vs. Loma. Haney was struggling to make weight prior to that fight too and damn near lost.

Point is you can't discount what effect the weight might have had on Spence. He's been on record for years that cutting weight was increasingly hard for him - even in the postfight he said he "promised" he would make the weight, which seems to imply that he wasn't sure he'd be able to when he signed the agreement.

A rematch at 154 silences that noise once and for all.

I agree that Spence could do better and a loss at the end of his time at 147 is no indication that he’s done as a top level fighter. But Bud has no reason to grant him a rematch at 154. There’s no point since the undisputed title isn’t on the line, and Bud is unlikely to campaign there beyond that rematch. If it happens though, at best Spence loses on points rather than getting an absolute beating.

Spence obviously felt he could still hang at 147. He looked fine until Bud dropped him in the second, and even during the third. But the difference was he was getting hit more often than he ever has, he wasn’t defending himself well, and that Crawford jab was much heavier than usual (and likely why they stayed southpaw the whole way through - must have felt like a straight power shot). So let’s not make out that Spence was somehow handicapped.

Bud was simply better in every department.

Excellent fight gallery. The rematch can only happen at 154lbs or a catchweight, but Spence is going to be the massive underdog no matter what. The only way to sell a rematch seems to be to make the case that Spence was weight-drained and inactive, but not sure fans are going to buy that story. Very curious to see what PPV sales were given the rampant illegal streaming. If sales were good (800K) or above, then I'm fairly sure we'll see a rematch.

No need to be out here piling on Spence. He did more to make this fight happen believing in his abilities and more importantly, he gave us a chance to see how truly special Crawford really is. No shame in losing to that type of fighter. Sure Spence may have been drained a little but I don't think the outcome would have mattered 'cos Bud's versatility and anticipation were miles ahead. And man, isn't it amazing how calm and composed he was under pressure even when he was giving away rounds. From round 3 on, the data download and the analysis was completed and the ending was already inevitable. It was just a matter of when Bud was ready to step on the gas. If we could time travel, I would have loved to see a Floyd vs Crawford fight. That would have been a grandchessmaster one for the ages type of fight.
