Pac was great, but he was beatable even at the peak of his prime.
The reason Pac was such a phenom is because he incorporated lateral movement in a way that no other fighter ever had. And he was lightning fast and placed his punches really accurately.

Inoue has power, that is for sure. And he is more textbook than Pac was. But Inoue takes flush shots at times, and he has never fought anyone near the level of prime Pac.

It is a scenario we will never see obviously. But prime Morales and Marquez both give Inoue big problems IMO. Of course, we see Inoue against Donaire, and Fulton. Donaire a really good fighter but never anywhere near Pac.....and Fulton can't punch, period. If Fulton had any power, he might have given Inoue something to think about. Fulton really got badly exposed.

I love watching Inoue. Just think he is benefiting from the era. I am interested to see what happens if he ends up fight Robiesy. Ramirez can crack and has real skills.

His defense is superior to Manny’s without a doubt. He is a better pure boxer. Manny has more power and might be a bit faster.

Agreed. If Pacquaio had the boxing skills of Inoue, I can see him beating Floyd.

How do people feel Inoue vs prime 122lbs Rigondeaux would go? Or current 118lbs Rigondeaux.

Third option, current Rigondeaux back at 122lbs. Would he frustrate Inoue worse than Butler, or eventually wilt like he did against Lomachenko?

Fair points. Prime Morales and Marquez give fits to any great fighter (except Floyd, I suppose), but I wouldn't necessarily have put my money on either guy beating Inoue at 122lbs. Pac might be the more dynamic fighter in terms of foot movement, but some of that movement is wasted and sets him up to get hit as much as it helps his attack. JMM learned his patterns pretty well. As far as Fulton goes, maybe he just got steamrolled by a future ATG? If he rebounds and wins another title down the road, he can both redeem himself and elevate Inoue.

I'm also supremely interested in a Inoue-Ramirez matchup. Ramirez is super clever and slick with his attack, but I think Inoue will be too dynamic for him. Ramirez has probably seen 99% of styles between his amateur and pro careers, but I don't think he's gotten in the ring with anyone like Inoue before.

Granted, Pacquiao moved up in weight and eventually fought much bigger guys, but his overall KO rate is only 54% while Inoue's is 88%. Even in the first half of his career, Pacquiao had nowhere near the same KO rate.

Ok that is a fair point. Manny does have stoppages above 135 so that is why I said he had more power.

pac's power is different from inoue... inoue has more of a one punch ko power where as for manny, his power punches stings, it stings you. but pac needs to throw a lot more to get his opponent out and because pac is not a better boxer than inoue, this is why he has less KO. inoue is more accurate so his punch placement is more effective which is why he has more KO than manny.

Inoue closes distance and generates extra power using his legs like Manny & using good technique plus he can put combinations together and unleash crazy combinations like RJJ. Definitely a special fighter.
