A ploy or mental health break, or both. Either way, leave 'em wanting more is a good thing.

He should take a break from the sport, go on a well deserved long vacation, and see later on if he wants to return.

Big fights are there for him, bigger than the Loma fight was during the pandemic, and much bigger than Taylor fight.

teo's wife may get a share of his future earning if the judges applies the rules in that way or there may be a lump sum, as far as i know but teo cant just retire and say im done and come back (like the wife will say he will do to the judge), that will be taken into account also with a good lawyer

In all seriousness you're exactly right. Everyone is in their own little narcissistic bubble where they are boxing gods with infinite knowledge that must be share with the masses.

His ESPN contract, on which his business cannot exist without, is dependent on stars like Lopez delivering ratings in big world title fights. Lopez-Loma and Lopez-Taylor did MASSIVE numbers.

That’s why Arum went nuts over Hearn buying the rights to Lopez-Kambosis. Lopez went and fought on a service that is fighting for ESPNs market share.

It doesn’t matter what his plans going forward are, this looks bad to ESPN.
