hatton isn't a WW. a real WW with all of the attributes I named can beat floyd.
A REAL WW!
floyd will counter the jab with the overhand right... only way you can get around that counter right is if you have a massive reach advantage over floyd.
when? I mean Vitaly beat floyd with punching output. VITALY!!!
sure, he's in condition, but he doesn't throw combinations.... and even if he does, its not more than 2 punches.
nobody is saying that he gases, just that he is too defensive.
nope, all it takes is someone like the attributes I noted... someone like mosley.
stop ducking mosley
that is a no brainer
cotto gases. he can't beat floyd. (but I'd still want to see it)

First of all, you need to be his size. Then you need a good jab (that you use often), a quick straight right, and a solid left hook that you use to counter when he throws his straight right.
That combination would beat floyd every time. Problem is that Floyd knows this too. Cotto might be able to beat him, with lots of body work early, but that's uncertain. Shane Mosley would whip Floyd all over the ring and back again, provided he could get the fight before he's babysitting his grandchildren.

No but... Floyd's style depends on flexibility of his core. What would dampen that flexibility? Body shots. Lots of them. Get hit to the body by a bunch of bombs and see how easy it is to duck and weave and do all that fanciness he loves to do...Once you take away his evasiveness, then all you have left is his defensive structure, and his physicality (arms) which he uses to break down most shots, when he's not evading.
So then continue to the body, and if he is hurting enough he will modify his defense to cover his body with both arms... then you switch up top with everything you have until he tightens his shell again. Then go to the body some more until his shell loosens up up top again. Rinse, repeat. The principle of change is necessary with Mayweather though... Ain't nobody gonna be able to just do one type of punch and beat him. So throw in something to keep him guessing every now and then.
But..the disadvantage with my strategy is that while you are going to his body, you have to be able to eat a lot of counter shots. And I mean alot. If Floyd is hurt, and feels very threatened and finally feels like his defense isn't enough, you are a fool if you think he will just throw 2 punch combinations.

But mosley fighting marg would be completely different from floyd. Mosley was able to hurt marg no way floyd could even faze margarito.

I think SYF has the right idea but you still need to be able to take the punishment and not just survive but fight pedal to the metal and we all know that when your taking punishment and getting fatigued your power and output start to suffer. and floyd's still fresh in the final rounds.

and how about looking at Castillo-Mayweather 2 to see how someone with 2 healthy hands can fight...mayweather beat castillo with one hand..then came back 6 months later and beat him with 2
