This phrase is gaining traction from boxers (Thurman and a few others have said it).

The business representative of the boxer handles the legal aspect of any contract so in this case it’s GBP and whoever represents Tank.

All that aside, you are correct, Tank was perhaps talking about his legal representative based on the info he’s been given. Regardless, it’s his job to make sure that part is taken care of.

My thing is, this isn’t the first time You Oscar has done this deadline ultimatum out of the blue. He doesn’t need to go public with it. All he has to do is use a different approach. It’s business after all and there’s plenty of money to be made.
I don't doubt and agree that some people use this as a tool of leverage for whatever means due to how hostile nature of how contracts end up in someones hands or not due to the status quo of how boxing works.

What other times has he requested a contract out of the blue?

hold on a sec, im not following this that close but didnt tank say we are just waiting for ryan to sign up for the fight and its done, well u cant do that without a contract or i think tank was also quoted as saying all details are not quite ready so there is confusion somewhere, but whats new

I don’t recall but it wasn’t so much a contract but him threatening to walk away from negotiations. Using the same words, “If this is not done by whatever time frame, we’re moving on”.
I looked it up but couldn’t find it.

Well, I think it's fair & reasonable that you back this up since it's the toic of debate. Moving forward, if you're without source it's not fair to say that my thing is, this isn’t the first time now is it? Provide all times he's said this and if it's a reasonable amount of x, then it's fair to consider it when he does it. Without sources, anyone can say anything any anytime.

              Riddle me that

Easy. Standard contract force majeure language would probably cover an occurrence such as one of the parties going to jail, or to be safe they could just write a specific addendum that deals with that possibility.

For whatever the reason, we can all agree that if said parties wait until Feb 16th, that's still plenty of time to meet the April 15th date

Not walk away from the table today

Secondly, "would probably cover an occurrence". If you know anything about legal language like you claim you do, you know those words don't fly.

To be fair, if Espinosa was a lawyer for GBP and now the President of Showtime Sports, like you've already said, he knows more about this; most likely, a lot more than you.

DLH is looking for a way out of this 3 months before the fight is set to take place. No excuses for this whatsoever.

Espinoza is not the lead promoter here, Haymon is. So what Espinoza knows or doesnt know is irrelevant. YOU are the one who brought up the contract issue, and I pointed out TWO separate ways to deal with it, force majeure, or a separate addendum. Its NOT a big deal. You are just TRYING to make it a big deal because that is what suits your agenda.

DLH did not handle this artfully, he should have done it privately, But he is not wrong for demanding that PBC **** or get off the pot. Why waste another month or so waiting for a contract, if its never coming. If the fight isnt happening, then PBC can just say so and both guys can move on to other fights........
