I would like to see this fight. JMM looked a bit fleshy at WW but i think he'd be lean and strong at JWW. He'd kayo hatton - It'd be like watching JMM v against an unskilled glass chinned pac man.

Juan Manuel Marquez Wants a Ricky Hatton Showdown

Look at the David Diaz fight, and realize Hatton is bigger, stronger, and much better at the pressure + mugging strategy that gave Marquez lots of trouble until Diaz got cut and got scared. Then you have to remember Marquez would only be weighing in 2 pounds less than he did against Mayweather, and would most likely still have close to the same lack of speed and reflexes he did against Mayweather.
Hatton does fight Marquez's style well, but I think Hatton would hurt Marquez.

Marquez seems to be looking for the big money fights. Hatton is the next biggest fight for him in terms of a payday. He's trying to cash out before he retires. It's the reason he took this fight with Mayweather (he and Nacho knew his chances at a victory were minimal at such a high weight). But he deserves the money at this point in his career. I doubt he'll fight Katsidis; he brings nothing to the table. If the Hatton fight doesn't happen I can see Marquez vs Morales or Barerra II sometime next year (May).

JMM Should just fight Katszidis in a comeback fight and then try and see if he can be effective at 140, wich i dont think so. 140 is not to distant from 142, and JMM looked sluggish, slow and out of shape.
I think he should stay at 135, if he cant handle 140, it will be horrendus for him to lose to Hatton, who is no where near the boxer JMM is, but the size can make a difference!!!!!!!

Yes his punch resistance has deteriorated since he fought Mayweather, but we must remember that Marquez doesn't look like he carries his power past 140. He certainly can't **** like Pacquiao, or Mayweather at the weight. I have a feeling that if Hatton's chin can hold up, then we will have a very exciting fight indeed. Neither boxer are defensive masters, and both are very aggressive. It will be similar too Diaz vs Marquez except Hatton has the power to hurt Marquez, and won't fold halfway through the fight. His stamina has always been excellent.
Saying that, Marquez could very well put Hatton away early if his his power is there at 140, and Hatton's chin is as bad as everyone fears. But I have a hunch that Hatton vs Marquez is FOTY material, and a potential classic.
