Good comeback fight for JMM, and one he can dominate. But Hatton looks to be on the way out.

Its funny how everybody wants to beat up on Ricky Hatton for a
big payday. Juan should just fight Michael Katsidis at Light Weight
where JMM is the man. I think that is a better fight and win for him.

I wouldn't mind seeing that. It's about time JMM starts getting a payday.

God damn it but Marquez is a beast! Already thinking of the next big challenge. I wish more fighters had the heart and willingness to take the big risks to prove themselves the way Marquez has. He is an honest boxing legend.

This would be a great fight for him too. The way he is getting on now, taking a couple of last big payday fights to see him off into the sunset would be great. I think one or two more big paydays for him, and I would be happy to see him leave the sport. He certainly deserved it with all the hard work and great fights over his long HOF career that he has given us all. He gave it a real good effort against a guy that just had too many advantages, but this does nothing but give him more exposure and the ability to land the big fights still.

I think Hatton would be willing to take this fight if he was looking for one last fight to leave the sport to and since he ended the career of one of my favourite fighters at the ripe old age of 36, I wouldn't be too sore about him getting beaten by another 36/37 year old LW. Actually, the more I think about this the more I think it could turn out to be a good fight. Hatton is a big dude and that alone could give Marquez some problems, especially considering he is now really getting on and starting to show his age more than ever. Still, I think his counter punching could hurt Hatton and his ability to figure out his opponent and finish strong could see him win the fight.

But, the great thing to see would be Marquez winning a big fight in another division and then maybe retiring with one more huge payday. Let's hope Hatton takes the fight to end his career on. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it happened.

LOL at you thinking Hatton deserves to win this more than JMM. Typical.

Looks like a decent match up I think .Don't know how it would go tbh .Hatton came back well against Floyd beating Malignaggi and JMM only been a lightweight. Not to forget Pacquiao been a southpaw and Hatton's always struggled with southpaws. If it gets Hattons spirits up I see him taking this fight tbh , would like to see it.Truth is I think Hatton's still capable of taking this one.

Man, you've got to be kidding. Marquez is way smaller than Hatton, way older, has been in more hard wars with more top fighters than Hatton and he still went the distance against a guy that was huge in comparison and Marquez jumped up two weight divisions to fight him.

Nonetheless, this is still a pick 'em fight. Marquez would be a lot smaller than Hatton and has been in so many hard fights now and with a 37 year old body going in against a retiring but still possibly fresher 30 year old, it could mean a hard fight. It would be a good fight for both guys to end their careers on. Marquez is a big name for Hatton and I imagine it would be in England for Hatton's retirement. It would be interesting. I hope it gets made. Would be great to see Marquez go out with a big win like this in another division, or maybe even have one or two after this if he can win it and try to get another title in another division and be the only Mexican fighter to ever get four titles in different divisions. What a warrior.

I think if Hatton is looking for one last fight he would see this as a very winnable fight. He would come in much bigger and still much younger, and he would be facing a 37 year old Marquez that is now more hittable than ever in another division that he's never been at or tested the waters in. Hatton would definitely see this as a winnable fight and I can see why. It would be a hard fight for both guys but I would love to see Marquez pull this out.

Hatton mauls JMM into submission quite possibly.
