Artur Beterbiev's priority was to nullify Joe's right-hand: Artur does so with footwork, circling to Smith's left-hand away from the ****er ; this also places Joe on the line or at dangerous angle.



In this clip Artur makes full use of the benefit of leading with your feet, being first to plant your legs, controlling the range and maneuvering Smith to his ( Beterbiev's ) right-hand.



More of the same, avoiding Joe's right, but Smith is coming in low as he uses the jab to find range and trying to get in ; you sacrifice a stiff power-jab. Artur knows this and decided to stand his ground and load-up on another right.



I love Artur's psychology, experience boxers get a read by their opponents reaction and behavior. I see Beterbiev checking if Joe will 'mirror' his own action ( putting up a high-guard ) as Artur comes forward. Joe complies, as such, Artur is manipulating Smith and has prepared another right hand around the constructed guard.

I did notice the blows that were looping around to the back of his head? Thats boxing, ref didn't have a problem with it.

I've watched all of their fights. And Smith, with his power was a live dog. If you don't this , you don't know anything about boxing. Yea, you can sound cool now shooting your mouth off but it doesn't work. Let see your prefight prediction. Why did you watch the fight ? Why was this fight the concensus " must see tv " from everyone involved with boxing ? Because the whole world knows nothing about boxing ?: Go away you twirp.

The ref did indeed give Beterbiev a warning about the punches to the back of the head...every knockdown was one of those loop around/over to the back of the head . Is it just what he does?

Not that I want to tarnish his wins, but the guy tends to hit behind the back of the head a lot. I want to say he is aiming behind the ear, but you are responsible for your weapons. Guide them right or don't use them.

Smith was working his jab well and backing Beterbiev up in the first minute or so. That should have been his plan....jab and move.
But his plan faded away when he got hit.

Bivol has a much higher IQ than Smith and can possibly outbox him but....I don't know if he could keep it up for 12 rounds.

Little dirty...little dirty ...I'm having questions now, about that 100% KO record ...but hey, its boxing, its a fight in there! Foul him back! Its the trainer's job to badger the ref about a guys penchant for fouling, during the hand wrapping in the dressing room
