If Morrell signs to fight Benavidez he will get top sparring in, he'll train as he never has before, he'll be a different fighter. Fact remains, Real Madrid didn't warm up for Liverpool by playing Toledo. Liverpool didn't warm up for Real Madrid by playing Stockport. If Morrell takes this he will be stepping up, like, 3 levels in one go. I would like Morrell to win, but I just can't see how.

If you lose so what? Just learn from it and become an even better fighter going forward.
Depends how you lose though. Benavidez doesn't do boring soft touch decisions. Against him there is a big risk of getting badly beaten up which could be career derailing for a young fighter. Even if Morrell somehow won it would be punishing war..

I would suggest he takes it and take advantage of the opportunity. Use Benavidez's name and use the rivalry strategy, which he himself had already started. Fight could end up in a trilogy. Who knows?
Which means if nothing works, find someone with your level a Gatti or Ward counterpart.
See if you can help each other's career, instead of doing it on your own.
Like I don't see Barrera without thinking of Morales. I see Fury and I think of Wilder, etc.

It was those with see-saw battles, almost a draw, or where one fighter or the other gets dominated, kd'd once, twice,
but survives, get even and wins the fight. You can't be a star without those moments in your fights. Winning in boring fashion
is possible but very rare. And in that case you capitalize on hate and people watch and pay to see you lose.
