I think Inoue just ended Donaire's career

Given their respective opposition since their first fight and how Donaire was looking more composed and relaxed within himself/the fights I was expecting another great competitive fight, this was a shocker to say the least, he should definitely move up instead of fighting Butler/Casimero that isn't going to get him any recognition on the world stage.

        That was brutal af

Donaire was on a great third trajectory in his career and Inoue just wiped him out.

I do believe the allure of "First Japanese Undisputed Champ" might play a part

Fans tend to get carried away with setting massive expectations, and then get angry at the fighter for not meeting them. Inoue should become undisputed at 118, and then move to 122 where hopefully there will be an undisputed champion waiting to face him. Inoue can greatly enhance his legacy with just two more fights.

Was not expecting Inoue to massacre Donaire like that that fast. Donaire's instinct on turning it into a war while he's hurt in hopes of landing something big ended up being his undoing. Whether they wanna give him credit or not for wrecking Donaire at his age, Inoue is clearly a special fighter and it's gonna take another special fighter in his weight range to defeat him.

Im sure he will target Butler next just to clean out the division. That would be a massacre, won’t last 2 rounds. He should get that fight out of the way ASAP and then move up.
As much as I want to see Inoue/Fulton next, this is a good post. Unify another division. Erase any doubt from imbeciles and haters. Then go up.

I can't see any of the current elite lightweights still being there by the time Inoue would go up, but even so, he'd have to adjust to size and length disadvantages and be able to switch towards a more hurried pace, because although he might still win 4 fights in every 5 he might get Canelo-Bivol'd sooner or later.
