The elephant in the ring; Benevidez needs to move up to 175 and fight men his own size. We will never know his real worth before he gets tested by the top guys in the light heavy division. He could start with Marcus Brown or Callum Smith, then go for Smith, Bivol or Beterbiev.

Canelo losing to Bivol has made all of critics come out in full force. Now everyone beats him, he’s overrated, was never fan friendly, is ducking everyone.

But I think Canelo is in a good position right now. It’s not like Dmitry Bivol was the equivalent of Pacquiao fighting Margarito at 150lbs. Canelo just fought an actual great fighter of a higher weight class, and lost. He can absolutely bounce back, still The Ring, WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBF champion at 168. He will be okay.

Benavidez will go up in weight eventually I mean he has to you can tell he somewhat struggles to make 168 ,how come a 5'7 midget in canelo already fought 2 LHW top names ,meanwhile these bunch tall mofos bullying 60 pounders for fun so called 'boogeymans' lol

I have always felt that David would break Canelo down and knock him out. No way in hell the 5'7 Canelo in the recent past, present, or future would beat Benavidez.

Maybe it's mind games, maybe it's real. But I think the promoter is right. Canelo's opponents since Golovkin have been low risk - not that they couldn't win, they could - BJS, Plant and Bivol stood decent chance at outboxing Canelo. But none of them are legitimate KO risk. Canelo has been very carefully managed for the most part, they steered him far away from guys who can knock him out. Beterbiev, Ramirez, Golovkin, and Benavidez are nowhere to be found. Now that G is over 40, he's become an interesting opponent.

            nailed in on the head.

I agree with your assessment Canelo won't fight Benavidez this year, he might never fight him though.
Benavidez is a taller, harder hitting version of Bivol to a certain extent, can take a punch, and is also undefeated.
That poses an even bigger nightmare than Bivol presented Canelo when they fought, Benavidez stops Canelo for very reasons.
Next year like you said the clamor for Canelo to fight Benavidez will be to much for Canelo to simply ignore, if Benavidez continues to win.
There aren't any easy option's for Canelo going forward, simply because the WBC allowed Canelo to dictate to them, and play promoter until now.
If Canelo tries to pick, and choose easier opponent's from this point on, he will be heckled, and hounded by the crowd's of fans whenever, and where ever he appears.
Canelo is a very good fighter, but his limitations are exposed when it comes exceptional boxers, with sturdy chins, whom are volume puncher's which is exactly what Benavidez, Bivol, and Charlo are just to name three.

This is pretty accurate, and if it's reverse psychology then I hope that it works, but I don't think that Canelo will bite.
Simply because he doesn't want to fight a taller, harder punching version of the fighter whom he just lost to.
Contrary to what I was hearing before watching the fight 2 weeks later on regular DAZN, Canelo got in his share of punches.
It was a very good fight with contested exchanges between the two, but when Canelo couldn't break Bivol down, you could see that frustrated, confused, disgusted, lost look on his face, and in his action's.
I honestly think that he should fight the rematch with Bivol in his next fight, because he did fight well, but only in spurts during their first fight.
That's exactly why he lost the fight, because in boxing, rounds are 3 minutes each, and if the other fighter out works you lose that round, and if you lose to many rounds you lose the fight.

You should have been a promoter steeve steel, if he does does move up in weight to 175, all five of those fighters mentioned would be fantastic match ups.
I don't think that Benavidez will be moving up in weight until late in 2023, or early 2024, he's already said that he wants to win the title at 168 again, and hopefully unify.
I wish him luck in his career, he's an articulate fighter who's respectful in his interviews, but if you cross the line he will get down and dirty it's in his competitive nature.

The only option Canelo has is 160 lbs. Bivol, Benavidez and Beterbiev are retirement makers for him and illusion destroyers. He can get in one last fight at 168 with GGG, but he'd be better off fighting him at 160 where he could pick up a couple of belts, providing he wins. Benavidez would run him over like a steam roller, and he has no business campaigning at 175,

No way Canelo coming from a loss fights this guy next.

Canelo probably rematches Bivol hoping on a miracle or fights GGG or Ryder next.
