Maybe they mean the linear champ. The man who beat the man who beat the man. Back when they used to have, and I know it is hard to believe, ONE BELT there was only the linear champ. And in the case of abdication while being the man, the winner of the fight between number two and three at the time (usually by Ring ****zine rankings) would crown the linear champ. I am not so sure about the abdication part though. So if anyone would like to clear that up I would like to know as well.

You didnt know the rumour, the UK press even run a telephone number for one of his previous gay lovers to come forward, or any girl he's dated so they could prove if he was gay one way or another.

Lewis didnt help because he kept this Violet girl secret, he said he had a lady but nobody had seen her.

I dont put any stock in rumors, especially the vicious ones. 9 times out of 10 theyre not true, such as with Lewis. Hey, the man didnt want his lady dragged thru the press, then he's even more of a gentleman than I originally thought...good for him!

Nah his ladys just ugly, he didnt want to be seen out with her.

Seriuosly mate, thats the reason he give but the rumour started way before he met her. He probably wanted a good career, its far more tempting to go to bed rather than the gym.

There's something very cool about keeping her name and face (her private life, for that matter) out of everyone's reach..it's nobody's business anyway. I just know he dated her for years, and the fact that she has the same name his mother does charmed him somewhat (according to an article I read). And youre probably right about training, etc...it's a well known fact that women and *** can drain a fighter during training, so thats a good point too.
I think alot of the rumors can be contributed to the fact that he has manners...plays chess and didnt spend time in and out of jail. He's not a hell raiser or a womanizer, and for some narrow minded people, that makes him gay. Which is down right silly I think.

I agree with you being a badass aint all its cracked up to be, it sucks ass when you dont know if your going prison or if you ladys gonna find you cheating. I dont blame Lewis, its the right way to live.

BUT I honestly dont have much respect for Lewis, he's been quoted a few times and he seems very arrogant. setting out to beat white fighters to make himself feel better sucks ass too.
