LSC has really messed up 126lb: he didn't face Russell, and his holding the belt hostage helped sabotage Xu vs. Warrington (a great match-up imo) which ultimately led to Josh dropping the IBF title.
I blame the WBA more than I blame him personally. They dangled the "4 division champion" moniker above his head and he took the fight for good money. The WBA had no business sanctioning LSC, who had never fought at 130, for a vacant title fight against unranked Flores.

LSC still has a great resume at 126, though. Mares twice, Frampton twice (one robbery) and Kiko (prior to the first Warrington or Russell losses) is a solid body of work. And his resume at 122 and 118 is even better.

I should've said 'recently' because he did have a respectable 126lb campaign overall, and actually I believe he's had more notable bouts at 126lb than 122 or 118 combined. However, I hate how he's allowed himself to be a pawn for PBC and WBA. I don't criticize him because he's not a big-mouth who gets into drama. Dude just fights, thanks Al Haymon, and collects his purse.Gunitsmith likes this.
