What if it was very personal for canelo but he was waiting to see if GGG would beat anyone that anybody in the US has heard of before to actually warrant the public wanting to see a 3rd fight.

Im mean for ****s sake in the last 4 years since Canelo II, GGG has fought:

    Steve Rolls
    Sergiy Derevyanchenko
    Kamil Szeremeta
    Ryota Murata

Nobody has even heard of these soviet cabbage farmers GGG is fighting.

Team GGG as the B side coming off the loss actually declined the trilogy when they were both still with DAZN because he'd rather fight scrubs (even a TBA) as a first option:

“No, they called me about it, and I said no,” Banks told IFL TV when the discussion turned to reviving the trilogy as the first piece of business once boxing returns at full strength. “The plan was for him to get this fight [Szeremeta], and get another fight, and then fight Canelo.”

haters trying to revision history and acting like ggg's team didnt decline the trilogy before, LMAO... it took the man 9 months to fully recover from the beating he took at the rematch, then comes back and fights a scrub cuz acording to his fans he needed a soft touch after the beating... but now they are trying to act like canelo was scared of him LMAO..

This is not so much about Trip G age to me as Mich as his inactivity and level of competition. He has nothing in the past three years to prepare for what Alvarez has become.

I may be in the minority but I still think Mirada legit beat him.

Without being a GGG fan you have to be biased to say his comments aren't fair imho

Canelo’s best wins on paper Lara, GGG2 were losses in reality. He’s also escaped losses with gifts GGG1. I like Canelo but robberies are disgusting and so is defending it because some fighter is your countryman or any other reason.

It was a shame the first fight happened when GGG was 35 but the rematch was warranted 12 months later didn't do GGG any favours. Now the third fight will happen when GGG is nearly 41. If Canelo wanted a third fight it should have happened a long time ago beating GGG at this age does nothing for his legacy.

Clenelo has no escape. Third fight but without steroids this time, he will get knocked out cold.

Would you keep that same energy for other 37 year old former unified champs though? You people are crazy - expecting a 37 year old who has reached the very pinnacle of the middleweight division to carry on fighting elite competition - for what? Surely when you reach that age and status boxing becomes more of a business, where its a case of grabbing as much money as possible before you retire. The mere fact that you place such high demands on the guy must show how much you low key rate him.

With regards to the opponent list you posted, admittedly they aint the best but still respectable:

Steve Rolls - tune up fight after a career long 9 month absence out of the ring

Sergiy Derevyanchenko - former Olympian, outstanding amateur career (390-20), former world title challenger and IBF number 1 at the time.

Kamil Szeremeta - IBF mandatory bout

Ryota Murata - Olympic Gold Medalist & and two time Middleweight World Champion
