I can see why Canelo would take it personal; great athletes take any slight personal. I can also see why GGG doesn't really care that much personally about any of it. He finally got the fight, fought well enough both times (won in most people's eyes), and got paid extremely well for it.

It's OK to have an opinion. No, really. Elevating subjective opinion into a rank of an objective fact is a delusion of grandeur. And thinking Canelo won the first fight is simply a delusion.

I told you I'd be in the minor concensus. I did say I thought he won but it was a draw, GGG did not win the fight either.

The 1st fight was close due to the respect Nelo gave. What was entirely visible was Nelo's superior boxing ability.
The way he shook off GGG's attack while on the ropes was spectacular. Threw 10, landed 2 ? GGG's jab was the deciding factor since he wasn't throwing too many combos
The rematch was more of what the 1st fight should have been. A more dedicated Nelo. GGG was so sure Nelo would be the same that he himself was the same.
Jabjabjabjabjab, occasional hook, jabjabjabjab.....
Most, if not all, of the more telling blows were landed by Nelo.

There's a built in fan generated excuse should Nelo win this 3rd fight -

''GGG was too old.''

Now, let GGG go back to his Kamil, Rolls, Le Meh, Ishida level guys and his aged body will be reinvigorated.

Remember,
Golovkin and Canelo sparred many years ago in a famous session.
During that time,
they had immense respect for one another.
When Canelo got popped for tainted beef,
Canelo thought Golovkin would be more understanding,
since they had this seemingly immense mutual respect.
Golovkin chose to not believe Canelo,
so Canelo took that personally due to their shared history.
Both have valid points.
Canelo should be more careful...period.
But beef in Mexico has a long history of being tainted.
And that tainted beef is not just at some random street corner taco vendor.
When the beef supply is tainted,
it doesn't matter how fancy or expensive the restaurant.

How about being fully aware that beef in Mexico is contaminated so making a conscious decision to dope outright with that contaminant before blaming it on the beef? Aint the Reynoso family hooked up to a butchers anyway?

Canelo only holds feelings because GGG called him out on PEDs - GGG was rightfully pi55ed because Canelo's PED shenanigans financially cost him for the expenses of a training camp as well as time away from his young family including a new-born.
