    Great article, thanks for that!

In the 1970's was for me on of the best who neved won a title: Ron Lyle

I think, Ortiz was a hughe talent, he could be a big threat for the Klitschkos in his prime (2010-2016).

Can't wait to see which opponent Ruiz chooses! I like Ortiz vs. Ruiz next, but IBF might be the easier route for Ortiz? If he fights Ruiz, he's still another fight away from a title shot! If he fights Hrgovic, the title shot comes automatically! Was not impressed with Hrgovic's defense in his last fight, but he's big enough (and only 29) to give Ortiz a lot of problems!

Not particularly. Two title fights, ko'd both times. Can't see him winning the fights he will need to get a third shot.

I'm cuban like Ortiz, I love to see his heart and total courage. But also like Rigo, they are getting old. This cuban generation like Ortiz, Rigo, Lara are now out of the prime time. I rather prefer not to see Ortiz fighting anymore and get hurt badly. His legs were shaking with the jab and he will not be able to prevail with other top fighters. He came to US late, and like other cubans, he was avoided when he was totally on his prime. Is sad but real.

With zero punch resistance and 2022 pretty much covered up for the title picture Ortiz will always be known as the old guy who almost made it

I'm surprised he didn't take that fight when hearn offered it to him . was his big chance to be the first hw champion .

Ortiz was offered a fight with AJ - his team turned it down and Ortiz was pissed. Ruiz took the offer instead….cant say Aj ducked Ortiz. Wilder ducked Ortiz until he slowed down years after the ko of Jennings. Ortiz went the distance with previous ko victims Scott and Hammer - nothing to fear.
