Babic wouldn't last two rounds he'd never get past ortizes jab and straight left even with ortizs blown out knees

Ortiz was not “over hyped” 5 years ago. He was a genuine high risk, low reward boogeyman. I was happy he got to fight Wilder. Really thought he would beat him, as he was winning both times until Wilder did his thing. Those legs looked shot though. I’m not seeing it anymore. Ruiz would be too much for him at this point.

I don’t know. Martin hurt Ortiz with what appeared to be some light punches. I know Martin can punch and he doesn’t have 25 KO’s in 28 wins because he’s a weak puncher. But it is still concerning.

”Even at 42, Ortiz was still able to take out a heavyweight highly ranked by a sanctioning body inside six rounds”

Sanctioning body rankings are sh/t. Canelo Alvarez was able to take out a Super Middleweight “highly ranked by sanctioning body” inside 3 rounds when he KO’ed Anvil Yildirim. It doesn’t mean anything.

The sanctioning body that had Martin ranked as #2, IBF, had Luis Ortiz as #9 and Anthony Joshua as #4. Parker, Ruiz, and Joyce were all ranked under Charles Martin. That’s incredibly wrong and ******. Nonsense rankings.

Boxing might just have the worst rankings of any professional sport in the world.

Please boxing world, stop giving ABC rankings any sort of credibility or positive attention. It’s wrong. Charles freaking Martin was no where near the #2 best HW in the world. That’s just laughable.

If his team feels that way, then he'll cash out with Ruiz! We will see! I hope he keeps the kids at home next time! That was sad.

At 42 he's closing in on a decade past his physical prime, he's at the age now where you can expect him to look worse in every fight, even the klitschkos who were a lot more athletic and lived the life far more than Ortiz were done at the age he is now.

He's an old man, his knees don't work and he's getting dropped off jabs, it's over, I don't understand why some people can't accept it lol.
I totally agree he is way past prime and old. But... there is a difference being 42 years old and active and 42 years old AND inactive. Age is a killer. Being inactive is a very negative factor. If he can stay active and strengthen his legs back to where they were 2/3 years ago that might be enough to see him get by Andy Ruiz or Chris Arreola.
The getting dropped off jabs is actually dropped off one jab. That might be because his punch resistance is gone. If that's the case then he is screwed.

Nope. Too old. People are getting carried away with this win, Martin is hardly a top tier dog's bollocks heavyweight.

That was a part of the play between two big interestgroups, Ortiz never feared Joshua.

But Hearn clearly tried to avoide him, he made for him a "non-television" (!) match against David Allen in 2016 when Ortiz was in his prime.

                    This is a shame.

Ortiz is still hanging in there on skill alone, but I fear his punch resistance is waning rapidly, that's what age does...
