Then the WBA should not have allowed him to fight for the "Regular" title! Since they did, and probably won't force Canelo to fight him, to consolidate the Champions like they're doing for other weight divisions, if Canelo vacates he has to be part of the plan!

anybody can get KO'd by anyone - not seeing a punch is a good way for that to happen - Mukabu has taken some shots at CW and survived well

Canelo is an unique kind of fighter who breaks all the rules and yet appears as otherdox as possible. The only UK boxer to give him a contest was Matthew Hatton and even then Matthew made the mistake of annoying him too much and got a beating that he feels to this day. Plant gave Canelo a run for it and took the same body shots that crippled Rhodes, Sterling, Liam Smith, and hid the pain well but he simply could not get out of the way with his lower body disobeying him.
I have been following Canelo for years. His rise through the ranks in Mexico was quite a feat in itself. His battles with the bad tempered Villanueva who started out with the crowd behind him but after fight 3, The crowd swung behind Canelo. Its a very dangerous rough business, many of the boxers who fought Canelo are dead and gone, but throughout it all Canelo retains this worthy aura. Certain boxers bleat about drugs, etc but Canelo has agreed to be tested any time any place. I would like him to get out as soon as possible.. Walk away and enjoy his family. He has proved himself long ago..

No fighting Beterbiev or Bivol would not be a cherry pick , lol i would like to see Clenelo Alvaroidz try ROFL but you know he wont fight them

I wonder if Canelo fans will still hype this fight and inevitable win if he demands a catchweight at around 185-190 along with a rehydration clause.

A-side will have all the demands for the champ who will not make this kind of money no where. No different in the past when the A-side goes up in weight for a belt and follows the path of the least resistance.

On the other hand if he fights Beterbiev and win they will say he was over 35 years old. If he goes after Bivol and wins they will say the he was the weakest champ of the division. If he fights Benavides at 168 and beats him they will say that Benavides couldn't do the weight anymore. Fighting GGG has already people crying that he is too old.

There is no winning for Canelo.

Too lazy to think about it from the top of my head. Ultimately, precedents (or lack of them) are irrelevant. But this is the difference between having a paper resume and a real one. Canelo, as excellent as he is, builds more of a paper resume. It's irrelevant for an average, casual fan, but those who dig into nuances of the sport would know and would see through it. The rest will just cheer Canelo on. I get it: with casual interest in something I would also be impressed by something a serious and a "real" fan wouldn't care about.

And that was the point I made. If it's unclear...
