2. Would fighting Beterbiev (age 37 in January) at 175 be a harder challenge, than fighting David Benavidez (age 25) at 168?
I don’t see any scenario where Benevidez beats Canelo.mgame likes this.

If he is not going to give us boxing fans the fights that they want to see then why keep fighting? Oh how I miss the days of Oscar De La Hoya, Pernell Whitaker and Sugar Ray Leonard.
They gave us boxing fans the fights that we wanted to see no matter what the cost and they all took risks.
in the work Canelo did to even warrant holding onto Canelo’s jock strap? How about all the others stop with this 0 fantasy and fight amongst themselves to EARN their spot? Canelo doesn’t owe s h it to anyone. He is now on cruise control for legacy and now going to do his own thing while the others fight for scraps to approach daddy’s table.

Benevidez loops his punches and that ripe for an elite counter power puncher such as Canelo. Canelo has him in footwork. Canelo has him in ring IQ. Canelo has him in defense. Speed and power are probably on par. Canelo’s chin has been tested. Canelo has him in level of opposition.

Reynoso has been a master of minimizing risk while maximizing rewards for years. He assess the champions and sees which would pose the least risk whether it be based on age or prior performances that show vulnerability. That’s why a fight with fielding happened, that’s why a fight with Kovalev happened, it’s why the move to unify at 168 happened and why this next fight is happening. Canelo has 100% confidence in who Reynoso selects because of this. They also know that their fan base is too ****** to realize what’s happening nor do they understand that fighting better opposition is a smaller weight class is better than facing a lesser opponent who’s bigger.BDBoxing likes this.

The usual haters are ignoring the vast size disadvantage Canelo is here, and criticize him for choosing Makabu as if Canelo was some career cruiserweight avoiding Briedis or something.
