Looked like a couple of wild flailing amateurs. Is anyone even interested in Crawford vs Spence or did the media just brainwash everyone by randomly putting them both in the top 5 P4P five years ago to market a big PPV fight in the future?

It's amazing how yall get fooled by the same tricks again and again.

From the post fight interview I think Shaun is very surprised at his father's decision and given what Kenny just said I think their father-son boxer-trainer relationship is damaged.
Nah man it wasn't. Shawn didn't do ****. He's not a draw. Look how many opportunities he had to turn his hips into huge shots inside right on Crawford's chin. Crawford's long wild looping shots left so much space inside for Porter.

But just my opinion, you could see him pulling his punches. And look at one of the knockdowns, it totally misses his face but Shawn spits out some drool to make it look real. Just my opinion. Two frauds in a "sport" filled with them. Shawn has never been KO'd before, so I'm guessing a lot of insiders made some nice $$$ betting on the KO finish.

That's why they were both so wild, in my opinion. When you throw wild punches like that, and they all miss or graze, you can pretend like you're just missing because you're wild, not because you're missing on purpose. In reality, both are way more talented than that, but hey, this is how it's done. Just my opinion.

I used to come to this site everyday. Everyday to read boxing news. Now it’s so racially charged with foolishness I don’t even care to read most things. Thanks bigpoppapump for your recaps, these fans are atrocious though. Too many terrible posts to count. Cong**** to bud it was a great fight!!!!

Welterweight is the #1 money division besides heavyweight, maybe even more than heavyweight. So it don't matter how good the era is at welterweight, even if the two top guys at welterweight suck, the media will put them in the top 5 P4P because of the fact they are welterweights, and promote them like crazy, and then 5-10 years later, you got a big PPV fight.

That's all this is about. And just look, they are already doing it again with the next crop of American and Latino welterweights (since those are the biggest PPV sellers in the US). The same **** Breadman and the other hypemen were saying about Crawford and Spence, they're now saying about Jaron, Vergil, and Ryan, Gervonta., and Devin. at 135 (since the 135 and 140 divisions will be used to market those guys before they ultimately move up to 147 and have the big PPV fights there).

That's all this is. IMO the sport is fraudulent. It's just a machine designed to pump out PPV's.

You know how you can tell it's true? Because of the big lie that "anything can happen in boxing. Any one punch can change things." If that is true, how come the big PPV stars rarely ever get badly hurt in their primes, to the point that they can no longer compete at a high enough level to keep selling PPVs? "Anything can happen" but when it comes to Floyd, Canelo, Oscar, and all the PPV guys, it never does! So just think about the probabilities, and how unlikely that would be if these fights were actually real. Just my opinion.

Good point. Porter down twice in the round, was about to get finished, Crawford lucky to get saved. Brilliant take.

Good competitive fight, I may have even had Porter slightly up. I was a surprised with the stoppage but the writing did seem on the wall.

Crawford has now got that good WW win he's been chasing. It's going to be interesting to see what's next now that he's become a free agent.

We can’t deny our media’s powerful BS or managerial or promotional crap that destroys our best matchups. But being left with Porter vs Crawford we at least have some entertainment; “some”. In those days when boxing was driven by real vs pumped up competitors Shawn vs Bud would’ve been considered a mismatch. Bud saw through this guy like a piece of tissue paper. Bud was good enough to give us a show for 10 rounds instead of killing our investments (in live tickets, PPV, etc) earlier. Crawford took no risks, hence, he didn’t have to. So he procrastinated to dazzle for 10 rounds, saw his sure shot and gave us a TKO to yap about. OK, nobody else did that to “Showtime Shawn”. Spence was likely more cautious (being the whore of his management as all decent players seen to have become). But yup, these displays do point to Crawford being #1… by far… over Spence. And all our other fistic whores for big prizes which I can’t blame them for targeting. After all it’s called, “Prize Fighting” as, “Money” Mayweather proclaimed. As for Taylor vs Crawford? That’s Bob Arum’s shot at keeping Bud on contract. I’d love to see Terrance say, “Kiss my Bud” to old man Bob but money talks, unfortunately for our satisfaction. Let’s keep remembering that these professionals are rarely afraid of these actual fights with best opponents; it’s more so managerial manipulation and desire to maximize their profits than fear of getting (physically) hurt. Especially at the top levels.

The fact that it took Crawford into the 10th to catch Shawn Porter is a testament to Shawn's unique style, elite level boxing skills and mental toughness. As for the stoppage, Shawn is strong and could have continued but he was also starting to get caught cleanly and often. Kenny knew his son was tiring, he doesn't have one punch power and he was behind on the cards so Kenny decided to stop the inevitable loss rather than risk further damage for entertainment.

I haven’ t read the comments, but suspect Kenny will be crucified for not sacrificing his son and grandchild’s Dad for entertainment. Kenny Porter knowingly sacrificed himself for his son and that’s unusual, he is a guy most people can only aspire to be. If you don’t get that, you need to get off the PlayStation and assess yourself as a person.

I hope Shawn comes back commentating because he's great at it. The guy is super smart, honest and he’s a great role model.
