What did he stop it for? It was just heating up and Porter was mad, not hurt!

Loved it but pissed off that Crawford was denied a true knockout and Porter was denied a chance to get him back after the two knockdowns.

To me this fight was fixed lol. I know it sounds ridiculous today such a statement but Porter was ahead in the cards in my opinion and those flash knockdowns I have seen him dropped before and he keeps fighting. Spence dropped him and hurt him similar, and it just seems odd that his father knows the fight was close and still stopped it anyways. Also he spoke after the fight and announced his retirement like what?? He looked like he was pulling his punches back at certain times in the fight as well.

If you watch this fight notice that Crawford was off, he was always running into Porter, and really not using his jab to create what he needed to set shots up. Keep in mind that Crawford, like very few fighters can fight moving backwards...

Now... I was watching this entire time and kept wondering when Crawford was going to throw the jab and just back up so Porter would come into the gap and not come in and on top of Crawford... That is exactly what happened when Crawford caught Porter. Porter was fixing to get caught coming in because Crawford made the adjustment.
Much of that is due to Porter switching up to Crawford’s adjustments.

after 3, Bud switches to southpaw, takes the 4th. After than, Porter starts doing that bounce up and down style which threw of Bud’s south paw made it 4-1 to me. Bud adjusts again and starts using that lead check hook takes a few rounds and Porter runs into the corner but switch’s up again. Bud then goes into that weird hand movement thing like Zab used to do. Got some good counters and then Porter switched to brawling on the inside, bud gets cut. About 4-4 to me by the 8th.

Crawford really settled towards the end cause those big left hands to the body wrecked Porter. Stole his legs off 2 punches. After that Crawford knew if Porter turned it into wild exchanges, he’d just the left to the body cause Porter didn’t have enough power to hurt him. 5-4 in the 9th cause Porter tried to recover from those big ass body shots he ate.

which then led to Porter lunging in to return power shots in the 10th but that lunging in played into Crawford’s last adjustment where he found homes for those uppercuts.

fight was a chess match really.

2 knockdowns sucks of course and Porter got angry at himself for it. But it was no reason to throw the towel in. JMM made his legacy on winning off getting knocked down multiple times. Porter could have made the adjustment and who knows what would have happened from there if he just survived the round.

But we will never know because his dad panicked and hit eject. And now Porter is retired. So it’s the end there.

Definitely a chess match. Was a good fight indeed.

I've been one of the critics of Crawford's light Top Rank resume .. but all due credit. He stopped a durable, rugged WW contender.

I thought it was an entertaining fight. I was a little sceptical beforehand about whether anything but an early stoppage would enhance Crawford's rep, but I think this does his rep some good. He's always looked good but for some reason has fought underwhelming opponents at WW -- with this, though, it confirms he is as dangerous a fighter as he seemed.

The stoppage did seem a little early, but I can't blame Porter's corner for trying to cut off the real possibility of a damaging knockout -- Crawford had hit him with several clean shots through the fight, but in that 10th round not only were they landing clean, but Porter wasn't seeing them coming and evidently his resistance to them was pretty much gone.

Some gripes about some of the things Crawford did -- the head clash, tripping Porter up, pushing him down, cuffing him on the back of the head/neck -- but regardless I have to say this was a deserved victory. Bud has laser-guided hands and amazing ring IQ. Top of the division is either him or Errol and the only way to truly determine it is with a fight. Let's hope Spence gets back to full health so that we get to see it.

Entitlement era of less is more.

Lol every time a fight happens a bunch of people come on here talking like they were the ones in the fight themselves. I can't believe people think this fight was fixed it was just a competitive fight can that not happen anymore? The stoppage was good Crawford is a good finisher it was going to look like the Hank Lundy fight so Porters dad did what was in the best interest of his son. He got up from the first drop which was more a flash KD like against AB but the 2nd one he was hurt and when he got up his father knew there was too much time left in the round and the inevitable was about to happen. From what it looked like they told Crawford he was down in his corner and from there he did what world class fighters do he went out and went for the kill nothing about this fight was su****ious at all.

I will say this though Crawford looked huge in there bigger than Porter physically which surprised me considering he used to fight at 135 and Porter used to fight at Middleweight but I guess those SNAC products be working he also seemed to gas a bit in the mid rounds because of it something I had never seen from bud.

Porter just aint that good simple as, he couldnt do to broner what maidana did, he went the distance with lo greco, robbed old julio, kell brook isnt special ironically and theyre similar level. porter at the tail end of a career that has had a few wars, he got put on his ass by broner actually that says it all and broner is a fighter who is susceptible to a swarming high volume style, so if he couldnt figure out broner hows he going to figure out crawford at this stage in his career, his most impressive looking win is battering old paulie. hes not elite. thurman in his prime much more impressive

Yeah. You hinted at it but you weren't bet-confident though.
