The possibility of purse bids are one of the few things that serve to keep promoters honest. If it does go to a purse bid (not a foregone conclusion) and DAZN promise the most money (also not a foregone conclusion), why anyone would -- in this circumstance -- hope for DAZN to fail in getting this for 'the good of boxing' escapes me.

I'm in America and for the last damn time I'm telling you they are failing miserably. If they had any chance of success they needed the support of all boxing fans over here and not just one demographic. It wasn't smart to piss off half of the fanbase and try to play divide and conquer. It didnt work. Im in DC and a lot of casual fans rely on me to keep them informed of what's going on in the boxing world. I always bad mouth DAZN and have personally kept about 100 people from getting the App. Why....because I want them to fail. So fuq DAZN, fuq Hearn and fuq all his supporters!
The comment about blocking fights seems disingenuous. Sure, he would have no direct way of blocking Fury/Joshua. Working as an advisor for Spence, you can't think of a way in which he might prove to be an obstacle to such a fight if he didn't want it? Come on. And that's being generous in terms of characterising Haymon's involvement in Spence. If Spence signs a contract, the terms of the deal, the venue, the crucial television deal, it would all have to be run by Haymon.

I want them to fail because of his arrogant entrance into the US market. Remember him saying that nobody is going to fight in America unless they sign with DAzn. Then fast forward 3 years and he realizes he can't make a move without Al's permission and and wants everyone to forget his actions and smoke peace pipes together. Fuq that. He made his bed now he can rest in it. I trust that Bob, Oscar and Al can handle US operations, Eddie can handle Europe.

I get what you're saying to a certain extent. My point is this is corporate America at its finest. Capitalism thrives off of competition and this is just another case of Macdonalds v Burger king, Verizon v AT&T or Nike v Under Armour. Al (PBC) has no desire in seeing TR or DAZN succeed, and I assume the feeling is mutual. Unfortunately, we as boxing fans (the consumer) are caught in the matrix. If I was going out looking to buy a burger to eat I have hundreds of options and the suppliers have to fight with each other to deliver the best product to me. If I am a boxing fan in America I only have 3 options with TR PBC GBP (and that lil ugly azz stepchild Dazn) being the only choices. They have a vested interest in seeing each other fail but that sucks for us as boxing fans because we don't have anywhere else to 'buy a burger'. The only outcome we can hope for is Bob Oscar and Al to play nicey-nice with each other and merge (monopolize) and deliver all the burgers we want!

Good post. I agree with you 100. Same thoughts here about Hearn and DAZN.

When you compare Porter to Gamboa and Postol, you fall under the category of what Uncle Roger Mayweather described - “you don’t shít about boxing”!

It’s not even worth explaining it to you
That is what Bruce Lee would call the art of answering without answering. Porter is a diffent type of fighter to Postol and Gamboa and he is bigger than Postol or Gamboa but what makes him better?

I'm actually anti American Promoters as they all suck balls and spoil loads of good fights. It was the great Al Haymon who wispered in to Deontay Wilder's ear that 100 million is Floyd May weather training camp money and then sacked Lou DiBella for trying to help make an undisputed fight between.

The PBC are the biggest culprits of this type of thing and Bob Fkking Arum isn't far behind.

And you are every bit as much anti DAZN as I am PBC. You are one of these wierdo Americans who heard Hearn say he was going to take over America and took it as a personal attack, an actual invasion on Merrka. Your a fkking moron.

Agreed, he came over with the typical entitled “empire” mindset. He should have worn his Pith helmet to complete the image. If some American jerk had gone to Britain and spewed rubbish like “this is the British takeover”, “anyone that wants to fight one of my fighters must sign with my American company”, feuded with British fighters, insulting them, using divide and conquer tactics targeted at separate ethnic groups, with a fanbase that ridiculed Brits he would not have been welcomed as well. Truth is this mentality is a blatant show of entitlement and a total disrespect to the idea of being a guest in another man’s country. Americans have the right to be proud of being American just like the British doll. Dazn failed because of Eddie Hearn….period. And furthermore, let’s get something nice and sparkling clear….these militant Eddie Hearn fans from Blighty don’t target Arum, they don’t target DLH, Main Events, TGB, they target Al Haymon….that is EXTREMELY revealing and telling. Americans do not understand the British and the European mindset when it comes to the idea of and what is expected in the concept of assimilation. You do not have an equivalent of al Haymon in the U.K. at all, at any level, and when he was seen as opposing Hearn, that taps into something very deep and ingrained and passed down. No one here has ever heard Haymon make a statement, but just the idea that he stands in the way of Hearn was enough to set off certain posters. This is apart of the empire mentality….even though the empire thankfully died 60+ years ago

                    - I get friends together and we split the PPV cost (usually thru viasat)

This way we watch it together and spend next to NOTHING individually on the PPV, and I dont gotta "subscribe" to anything monthly.

I dont even know if we get DAZN here! I wanna see Porter beat Crawford! Lets hope someone else wins it.

BTW: How are you doing bro? Is your "Danites are warriors" a reference to the tribe of DAN in the Bible? Lots of folks in my family tree were called "Issachar"
L’shana Tovah! It’s the holiday of Yom Teurah otherwise known as Rosh Hashana in the Mishna. My family is ***ish from NW England. It’s time to sound the shofar!
It’s good to see a boxing fan from Finland. For so long we didn’t get boxers from there or Norway or even Sweden. I would think dazn would be available in your country since I read they basically spread to the majority of nations in the world? I imagine for European nations they have deals in place for football and other sports?

No one watches Dazn. That app his been a disaster. They don’t even live up to their contracts
