In the end, boxers like to be called champs and promotions like to use the term "title fight" when advertising. It is a gross destruction of the history of championship belts. And it is not going anywhere.Tatabanya likes this.

He was a soloist whose lines were incisive and dangerous, not someone who churns out commonplaces while hiding behind a generic choir of disapproval.

Belt is worthless but not who you beat for that belt.
Pac beat Keith Thurman for that belt.
If Pac blows ugas out, Thurman might just be the 2nd best in the division.
Spence might be done.
Crawford fights no one.
Porter was lucky to beat ugas.
If pac has an easy time with ugas, Thurman gave him a good fight. Thurman clearly #2 in the division.

Speaking of Jim Brady, you can hear his testimony about WBA's practices involving Carl and Don King - plus other extremely interesting remarks - in this C-SPAN video from 1997. Some 24 years ago, well before the world of boxing writers, for some reason, suddenly erupted against WBA after Maestre vs Fox.
