The Filipino legend eventually d****d it over his right shoulder as he and Yordenis Ugas, who owns the same WBA 147-pound crown, posed for photos following their press conference at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Pacquiao should've dumped it in the nearest trash can, Rid**** Bowe style, because that's where worthless WBA belts belong after years of objectionable behavior.

Who cares……… nobody knows him because he has the WBA belt. Belts mean NOTHING when you have a big name.

Most journalists - and I'm not necessarily meaning Mr. Idec - would immediately change their tune if one of the organizations hired them as publicists for a good amount of money. The lone writers who went against the establishment were either fired (Nigel Collins, when De La Hoya bought The Ring ****zine) or dead (the late, great Jim Brady, of whom I warmly recommend to everybody his excellent book Boxing Confidential).

I will look it up. Respect Brady, and this is the first I have heard his name in a long time.

In the end, boxers like to be called champs and promotions like to use the term "title fight" when advertising. It is a gross destruction of the history of championship belts. And it is not going anywhere.

By all means, do it. The paperback version is easily available for a few dollars.

Brady was a serious investigator of the crimes of boxing, from the ancient eras until he died. He lists names and facts, reports about conversations involving alphabet presidents and corrupted managers, is not afraid to talk about Don King and Bob Arum's connections.

He was a soloist whose lines were incisive and dangerous, not someone who churns out commonplaces while hiding behind a generic choir of disapproval.

If Pac blows ugas out, Thurman might just be the 2nd best in the division.

These belts aren't that valuable anymore. Who cares about the belts if you become the best by beating the best. People know who the best boxers are.
