I agree. I would have loved Manny to have done what Rid**** Bowe did before. Manny doesn't need a WBA belt as his legacy is more than any sanctioning body belt.

It's been 50 years of writing against the alphabet gangs now. The IBF was considered shìt in 1983 and now is perhaps the most respected organization. Let's dump this, let's ignore that, let's not rate their belts, blah blah blah....

But they're still there, increasing the number of titles by the week, fattening their bank accounts while pretending to "care" for the fighters, and no one ever will change this status quo.

As I said elsewhere, this stuff reminds me of the invitations to the powers that be to "solve" the world's major problems. Which of course are becoming worse for every minute that elapses.

A cancer is a cancer. And yet, boxing still survives. One way or another.

I, for one, believe that there's a lot of money laundering behind the façade of multiple title fights. That would be one of the reasons why things not only never change, but get worse.

In essence, there's no "working" solution because boxing simply adapts to how the world "works" in a given moment of history. Right now we're at an all-time low on a sociopolitical and economic level worldwide. Boxing just reflects that. Grab money where you can, who gives a damn about ethics and rectitude?

Maros Antonio Barrera did a couple of fights without a title. He said that he was established enough and the match up was good enough that it didn't need a title with all their politics and sanctioning fees. A fighter with Pac's standing in boxing doesn't need bogus titles to legitimize the fight.
