Comments Thread For: Hearn: Fury-Joshua Would Be Easier To Make Than Wilder-Joshua

Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, WBA, WBO, IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, will be keeping a very close eye on this month's trilogy fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. Fury will defend the WBC title against Wilder on July 24, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Ah yes....The famous aj vs Wilder unification negotiation by Hearn. ..... except for the fact AJ lost his belts to a fat Mexican and would of had nothing to unify with.

And the fact that a fight with AJ wasn't even in the contract, and AJ was committed for 18+ months losing, and trying to get belt back off even fatter version of Ruiz

I wonder is Tyson will have to sign with DAZN and fight a couple Matchroom bums, as part of Hearn's slave contract.

Wilder/Joshua was hard to make because Barry & Eddie wanted to protect & provide the robot “risk free” fights that could be downloaded anytime - in the padded comfort of ONLY the UK.

Attending photo shoot after photo shoot made Joshua’s commercial appeal soar!, that is until guys like Lennox, Ray Leonard and even Fury (to name a few) overloaded Joshua’s circuit board by calling him out on his convenient docking station…..

Ruiz then wedged a Snicker right through that same circuit board and through Eddies funds….Josh then found solace in dance, but Ruiz couldn’t keep up.

okay, I get it, Joshua has to be a travelling champ, while miss whinner and other scared Americans like Floyd gayweather, and other are permitted to fight only in the states?

ooh!!, I remember, the states is the home of boxing, and Vegas is the mecca of boxing. SMH

It was AJs choice to "take over America".

On his US take over debut, His biggest concern was whether he should break ruiz he or not. That's what he told the media. The arrogance of the man was amazing

Wilder wouldn't even defend against a non PBC/Haymon fighter let alone leave the country. Why in boxing only can American champions only fight with home advantage in the US ??
This is the third time Wilder will have had home advantage over Fury ?????

What other sport does this happen in if an American runner, tennis player, golfer tried to behave like that they would be laughed and ridiculed in their own country instead of just round the world like Wilder and his fake champion friends?

In your world the Olympics can only be held in the States, we can only have the US open for tennis ... you just make America look weak.

Look at Josh Taylor vs Gervonta Davis , will Davis ever defend a belt outside the States ,, no .. he could be offers 10x the money but we know he will never fight outside the States. He won't even fight Taylor in the States because Taylor ain't known there ... hey Davis fight in Scotland see who knows you there.

Millions watched super middle weight boxing when Roy Jones Jr was champ and had never heard of him or even knew he existed but they weren't Americans so that's ok?
Was Roy Jones Jr a world champion .. he was good enough .. but no way was he fighting the rest of the world go ask Steve Collins who wrote a book about it.

"At least with Tyson Fury and Bob, if I called Bob, he would pick up the phone immediately." - Eddie Hearn

I see Eddie still hasn't learned? Bob has consistently attempted to humiliate Hearn, but Eddie keeps coming back!

DAZN Exec Chairman John Skipper Admits To “Messing Up” $100m Deontay Wilder Deal!
                    November 21, 2019
                    By Danny Ech
                    Boxing News 24

A new streaming app showcasing all types of sports called DAZN landed in America and has quickly risen as an alternative platform for sports enthusiast. The company DAZN has signed some major players such as Mexican Boxing Star Canelo Alvarez and his popular foe Gennady ‘GGG” Golovkin among other top fighters.

In March John Skipper the Executive Chairman of DAZN tried to secure America’s next biggest Heavyweight Star Deontay Wilder to a 3 fight network deal which totalled $100 million dollars which was an astronomical amount to say the least.

The news of this $100m deal sent shock waves through the boxing world and many were convinced Deontay Wilder must be very valuable and this deal was a “no brainer” and surely he would take it right away.

The mega $100 million dollar deal ultimately FAILED and disappeared with some calling the Champion Deontay Wilder a FOOL for declining such a deal. In an interview with LANCE PUGMIRE of the ATHLETIC.com DAZN Executive chairman John Skipper was quoted as saying :

“In retrospect, I was too brash going in there without creating the relationships I needed to create with the people who advised Deontay Wilder. I have now worked to do that. It has to do with going back to the education I needed before getting into boxing … When we left that (Wilder) meeting, I KNEW WE MESSED UP and that we weren’t going to be successful (Wilder)

John Skipper went on to say QUOTE:

“We were IMPATIENT, and after having some early success, we wanted to MOVE QUICKLY. Now I understand that I’ve got to work relationships, work within a framework and understand other peoples’ self-interests and needs as well … If I had to do it again, I’d have gone in and said, ‘I’m playing the long game.’ I’m playing the long game with Canelo and GGG, too.”.
