Loma is kinda effed up because Teo is one punch faster than himself and Teo beat him to the punch.

Loma did great adjustments and and almost grabbed a draw (if he hadn't lose the 12th) but it was not enough. Teo will have more experience, he's himself a student of the game Loma will lose the rematch IMO

But respect to Loma for chasing such a challenge.
Exactly! I think people are focusing too much on what Loma didn't do and not what Teo did to stop Loma from doing it.

He's definitely going to open that window the more aggressive he is early on. Teo has legit power but more importantly, speed and reflexes.

Drakulich is far worse than Cole

wait not drakulich but the ref that stands at attention and salutes. He literally gets angry during fights and targets boxers.

I stand by my comments. Loma is good. He's not great. If you point out just two instances in which he could walk in Ali's shoes, I'll take a bow. He faced his biggest challenge and failed.

Gary Russell jr. got robbed the knockdown in the ninth, but Bumchenko got a unwarranted ten-count against Anthony Crolla; at first I wondered if this was a standing eight-count, but I realized he ruled Anthony a downed opponent -- even the commission was all over the place, I'm suprised that Jack did not deduct a point from them too, cause you know thats what he does, hes a complete moron.
You posted the Gif, you can clearly see it was a trip with Lomas left leg getting tangled up with Russells right leg... Jack Reiss is a terrible referee though.

I'm sure it's already been said but the way Loma approached the fight, especially in the first half seemed to be the exact opposite of taking an opponent lightly.

You understood the words I wrote, but hardly the point. I'll wait for you to improve your comprehension skills. Something tells me it's going to be a long wait with a disappointing result. But, since you got my point wrong anyway...At 15-2 Loma has become a 3 division world champ holding multiple belts. Name me a few other boxers who did the same, American or not. Typically, the first 20 fights even champions fight are against those who don't even have Wikipedia pages. And, mind you, Usman "Uzzy" Ahmed has a Wikipedia page. Did you understand my point now?

Unfortunately, he also showed no ability to open up Loma's defense, and he was more than lackluster in countering when Loma started to let his hands go. What he did very well was use his feet and react to and turn with Loma's angles early on. I think he got a lot of credit for that, as it made Loma look like he wasn't doing Loma things.

There is no way around the fact that almost all of the meaningful punches in the fight were landed by Loma. Lopez subsequent reluctance to rematch Loma, i think demonstrates that Lopez is less than confident about his chances of winning a 2nd fight.

If he thought he figured something out about Loma, or that he would be able to do even better in the 2nd fight, he would have signed up immediately, and made the win definitive. That would have put him in a great position for his career.

As it stands now though, hes just kinda in a position where he is clearly avoiding rematching Loma, in a fight that most people feel, Loma lost on his own through giving away early rounds.

The thing with Loma is that even while he wasn't getting punches off, he puts a lot of mental pressure on his opponents. I think Teo was mentally and physically exhausted towards the end when Loma started ramping up. With that being said, people have to stop minimizing what Teo accomplished. Him and his pops called for that fight because they clearly felt they had the gameplan and physical attributes to beat Loma and they did.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Teo never replicates that performance. I think he was really up for that fight and he may not ever be able to get to that point again. I've been wanting a rematch but ultimately, Loma and his team omitted the rematch clause the first go around so they have nobody to blame but themselves.
