There seems to be some kind of funky attachment folks have to Lomachenko. He got beat by the better fighter that night. No excuses.

agree…and dont see anyone dis*****g that on this thread. Saying Loma started slow is just an observation which was obvious to everyone.

Davis is more overrated if you ask me.

I agree with your analysis of the Teo fight.
The verdict is still out on Davis, but he proved that he had resolve this past weekend against Barrios. Davis had gotten tired against Barrios, had lost some rounds, and was in some trouble - which is why he was asking his corner, what round he was in. Just like most fighters, their value gets overstated too soon as their promoters are always looking to establish the next big money making star. This is no different with Tank. But he rallied big time, and put a very game and underrated Barrios, away (Barrios looked like a star and will one day be a champion). At this time, I have Teofimo (1st) and Davis (2nd) as a favorite to win in a match against Loma.

He did take Teofimo Lopez lightly! He didn't think Teofimo was worthy of fighting him! He didn't even bother to put in a rematch clause! Well, hindsight is 20/20! If I'm Teofimo, he wouldn't get a rematch @ 135! I would make him come to 140, after I won a title! If Loma had beat Teofimo by SD, he would not have given Teofimo a rematch! Teofimo should be fighting Haney @ 135, Tank @ 135, or Ramirez @ 140!

Teofimo Management Wants Lomachenko To Agree To Stipulations For Rematch

Vasily Lomachenko will need to agree to concessions to get the rematch that he so badly wants against lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez. It appears that Teofimo’s management is going to play hardball with Loma in negotiating this fight. Whether Teofimo’s management is taking this approach because they don’t really want the rematch with Lomachenko or if it’s a case of bitter revenge is unclear. Whatever victory Teo and his team get from being the A-side could be fleeting if Lomachenko destroys him in the rematch.

For the two-time Olympic gold medalist Lomachenko (15-2, 11 KOs) to get the rematch with Teofimo, he’ll need to agree to the same deal that he gave Teo last October. Teofimo (16-0, 12 KOs) received 1.35 million for his guaranteed purse for his fight against then WBA/WBC Franchise/WBO lightweight champion Lomachenko on ESPN pay-per-view. In a take it or leave it offer, Teofimo’s manager Dave McWater wants Lomachenko to agree to that same $1.35 million deal for him to get the rematch. If Loma refuses, he won’t get the fight and will have to look elsewhere for opponents.

“We’ll do that fight tomorrow as long as Lomachenko agrees to fight for what we did. $1.35 million,” said Teofimo Lopez’s manager Dave McWater to . “We took that first fight without a rematch clause and got treated like s*** throughout. So [Loma] can fight us on pay-per-view, take the same money we did, or otherwise go f*** himself,” said McWater.

He almost got seriously hurt in their first fight. Do not be surprised if Teofimo gets the ko in a rematch.
Overrated?! You should learn the meaning of the words before using then. Or you look like a baffoon or a pathetic hater.. And, yes, race is a factor: if Loma was an American, he'd be compared to Ali in greatness.

loma does appear to have a streak of arrogance in him...but i dont think he took teo lightly.....

and yeah loma is still really good...he does things nobody else will/can.......but i think he was just wary of teo dropping a bomb on him.....i think teo can def beat him again....teo has to be prepared to do whats neccessary to keep loma off him and back him up for 12 rounds....and be able to vary how he does that.....

Arum messed up Loma's career by not putting the rematch clause saying he didn't believe in them and that Eddie Hearn overused them. I think Loma should agree and best the **** out of Lopez. But it does show what a salty, vengeful bunch of low-lifes Lopezes are.

Loma is still good, but athletic fighters like him lose their edge quickly as they get older. Plus he is small for that division. Nakatami was damaged goods. Nothing I've seen makes me believe he can beat Teo in the rematch, unless he has a really bad night or has silk pyjama syndrome.

They got treated like s--t, so of course they're vengeful! Then, after the loss, here comes the "shoulder injury." That must be a Top Rank special tactic?

Hatton is right on this. There's a reason Lopez doesn't want a rematch and the other 3 in that division dont want any piece of Loma.
