Is Fury's win over Wilder 2 the most overrated win in recent years?

it was a great win as he was first to tame wilder
Even with a mentally broken wilder, I still think he’d beat AJ 8 times out of 10.

It is an interesting practice fans take part in when they trash a fighter until they want to use that fighter to prop up another fighter.
That said, I'm a Wilder fan, so, ... no.

But, holy **** is Fury's TKO over Wilder the most overrated win since forever. Like it's not even a great win.
Most of us thought Wilder was a hypejob even before he faced Fury. He fought Fury prior and got schooled almost every round except for the 2 rounds he scored a knockdown. He got gifted with a draw ffs. Are we really surprised that Fury, who won the first time, would end up winning the second time?
Wilder was never that good. Is he a top 5 heavy right now? Probably, but if you look at his wins they are 99.9% garbage. His best win is probably an old Ortiz. He was ****ted on pretty much every forum, rightfully so. But since Fury beat him, Wilder all of a sudden becomes the hardest-hitting heavyweight boogeyman to ever exist in boxing? **** no.
Any great heavyweight in history would've beaten Wilder that night, and if we're being honest, Fury didn't even look that great. He was fighting dirty and got caught with some shots that he shouldn't have been hit with.
I cannot think of any other win that has been more meaningless than this one. Any thoughts?
What about David Haye? an ambush fighter who found a way to stay back and KO a few people... Haye was never a much better boxer than Wilder if you watch him. Where I agree with some of your hyperbolic perspective is where we take Wilder and try to place him in an era like Louis, or Ali's. In these eras the punchers had to have boxing skills, the general level of skill was just such that no one who did not have at least great basic skills, would not survive. particularly the 70's where Lyle and Shavers, both pure punchers, had to know how to box...
But today most of the fighters are limited except Fury. Ortiz when he fought Wilder was beating him badly in the second fight. It never really mattered though. We may see a situation when wilder fights guys like Ruiz and Joshua where Wilder is KO'ed like Fury was doing to him the second fight. Time will tell. BUT all a puncher has to do is have a way to not get attacked. Wilder knows guys will hesitate against him... Thats why he can do what he does.
