Mosley & Delahoya >>> Todays lads

Just watched Oscar vs Mosley 1 for the first time in ages and it became clear almost instantly that NONE of the WW of today could handle these cats in their prime! Not Margarito not Cotto not Clottey not no catchweight Manny and not no Floyd Joy Mayweather! The speed the skill the chins and the power, the determination the grit and the stamina was unreal! Actually a Great fight ive not credited enough, two PRIME ELITE fighters at the top of their games putting on a top class showing.

Todays guys are lucky that Shane aint what he was and Oscar too

Great post, I've been meaning to make a thread highlight the brilliance of Mosley vs DLH 1.

Such an underrated fight. How often do we see two PRIME HOF'ers getting it on? Sure, it wasn't a slugfest with both multiple knockdowns but in its own way, it is so entertaining. Both fighters were on it, Shane just managed to out-will and yes, out-hustle DLH in the end.

Shane's speed in this fight is frightening, the fastest thing I have ever seen. It's a shame Forrest somewhat derailed Mosley after it.

And yeah, I agree, don't think any of the current crop of WW could live with those versions of Shane and DLH, apart from Floyd. And even he would have his hands full.

That was a great fight. I agree that in their primes, Mosley and DLH were complete warriors. They could have very well beat any of the welterweights today.

That was an excellent fight. The last round is one of my favourite rounds this decade. I didn't expect the fight we got, I expected it to be another Tito/De La Hoya (dissappointment for all the hype) but it definitely exceeded my expectations. Oscar & Shane were two exceptional talents in their respective primes.

They could beat Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and so on because they are not special fighters but they still wouldnt beat a Mayweather or a Williams. Dont act like these guys were in a class of there own. Oscar had a few gifts before that fight and Mosley got destroyed by Forrest not long after this fight so lets no overrate them and make them out to be some WW monsters that they never were
