Who is Pacquiao going to fight if this fight does fall through? He isn't going to sit out for the rest of the year is he?
The weight difference between Pac and Soto is greater than between Pac and Cotto. And if your objection to the latter is that he should be cleaning out his own division, the objection applies equally to both fights.

If he was going to fight a lighter opponent, it would be Valero. It would generate far more interest (= $) than against Soto because of Valero's punching power.

The Bradley-Campbell fight is scheduled for August 1, and Pac wants to fight in October or November, so there's enough time between those dates, barring injuries.

If the fight falls through he'd probably fight Mosley.

Ppl shine the light on pac and dim the light on cotto because of his last fights.

If a real boxing fan would acknowledge that miguel has fought TOP welterweights.THE HARDEST OPPENENTS YET TO DATE. In no way does this guy turn down any fights or cherry picks. So respect has to be given.

Pac put a performance but in no way was i shocked either when hatton got ko'd.When hatton fought mayweather his clumbsy self did a wrestling turnbuckle knockout.

Some way, somehow, cotto will emerge and keep his title.

I think Pacquiao is going to bust Cotto's ass. I think the stamina deficiency that Cotto is notorious for having is going to do him in. I was at first getting a little bit skeptical of my prediction at first because of the weight demands that Pacquiao was throwing out. But I think he did that to get a bigger purse cut. Not because he lacked confidence of beating Cotto at a reasonable weight.

I, myself feel the same way you do.However teddy atlas is not the man.Matter of fact i beleive he was against cotto on the clotty fight.Cotto has to sharpen up his defense a lil bit and WORK ON THE HOLDING GAME.Thats part of boxing. He doesnt do that.Against big welter weights you have to hold sometimes so you wont tire out,so you can land more stat punches,so you can time yourself.

Cotto does deserve respect for never ducking anyone. He just needs to work on his stamina because Pacquiao seems to have as much energy in rd 12 as in rd 1 but Cotto will probably be packing more power than Pac will so it will be a competitive fight no doubt about it.

I have to disagree on the stamina asset.Cotto has stamina issues when it comes to bigger guys putting on PRESSURE.Such as the bigger WW's.Pac is not going to put pressure. He wants to command the fight in the middle of the ring, trade puches because he feels he's gonna land them 1st.

I do agree on the weight purse trap. They got him good by calling the weight low early in the negotiation process.I call it weight bluff marketing.

Im riding the wave with you.I think it's all going to come down to power and who lands the most impact.

I don't agree that the weight difference between Soto and Pacquiao is greater than the one between Cotto and Pacquiao. Soto is a big fighter for his weight class and he could easily move up to 140. Didn't Pacquiao make Larios move up from 122 to 130 after he got starched by Vasquez? Soto would take a Pacquiao fight in a heart beat and the rest of the top guys at 140 are tied up. I'm not suggesting a Soto-Pac fight over a Cotto-Pac fight even though I would rather see the former for personal preference. I'm just saying that Soto would be a ready and willing opponent for Manny if the negotiations for a fight with Cotto fell apart.
