If they were to fight in a catch weight though; then I don't see the big deal. Cotto had problems making 140; he's not having problems making 147, in fact he shows up 145, 146, he could just make it official and show up at 145. Paul Williams is jumping divisions, and is still talking about going back to 147, is Cotto a lesser athlete were he can't go down a couple of measly pounds?

I think Pachaters are just drooling to see Pacman get stopped by a bigger opponent, because they know that's the only kind of fighter that can.
I don't necessarily go out of my way to want Pacquiao to fight Mosley and Cotto. My personal preference is to see him stay at 140 and fight all comers in that division or give Marquez a rubber match. But if he is going to fight Cotto and Mosley don't dehydrate them.

i dont think pac will fight cotto or mosley at 147. especially mosley. he spent a good portion of his career at 154. if cotto drops below 145 he's in trouble. mosley dont giv a **** what the weight is cause he wants the money

lmfao!!! so.. it is ok for manny to fight cotto at 147 but PBF has to fight pac and jmm at a catch weight? Why can't he also fight pac and Jmm at 147???? The double standards on this boxing forum are bul*****.

Who are the other champions at 140????

All the deals by promoters and broadcasters make it tough enough to secure exciting, competitive fights. i.e. the best fighting the best. Catch weights further destroy chances of getting the fights fans want (one more negotiating point to screw things up).

I also want to see same-evening weigh-ins. Every athlete would then have to fight at his natural weight (or very, very close to it). This might mean Pac would never fight Cotto. No loss. Cotto can fight PWill. Pac can fight Ortiz.

While I'm at it, I really miss 15 round championship fights.

Honestly, I don't think Roach will change his position about the fight being on a catchweight.....they won't fight unless they have that "advantage" over Cotto, since money may be an incentive for Cotto it may still happen....hope it's at 147

Wow this thread is really making Pacman look like a Pu$$y or something. Let I remind you that Pacquiao's last 4 fights within 14 months were all in different weight classes(none of them were in catch weights).

Juan Manuel Marquez 3-15-08 Jr. Lightweight
                David Diaz 6-28-08 Lightweight
Oscar De La Hoya 12-06-08 Welterweight
                Ricky Hatton 5-2-09 Jr. Welterweight

So if he wants his next fight at a catch weight where he is comfortable in (ala 142-143) why can't he get his way one time.

If pac fights cotto at 147 lbs, pac will get destroyed. cotto will be about 10+ lbs heavier than pac on fight night.

asking pac to fight cotto at 147 lbs is suicide.

True, but it has been Pacman who told Arum to get thet fight done with Cotto for November not the other way around. So i guess if you are the one who want me, come and get me. Pacman knows in what weight Cotto ha sfough his last fights, he kniw Cotto had weight problems in the past at JWW and he also know that Cotto come fight night could probably be at from 154 to 158. This is not a secret to nobody in boxing.

This is just like calling out a pitcher in baseball, but hey, you can only throw fastballs, no curve ball.

Or pick on somebody and then hide behind your big brother when that somebody is coming back at you.

No disrespect to Pacman because he is IMO the p4p best right now and if the fight is agree he has all the right to probably calim 55/45 or even 60/40. But if he calls somebody out, fight that somebody as is, not as you want him.

yeah, it makes no sense, if the tittle is on the line, it should be at 147....
