Pacquiao’s Choice Should Be a Real "Welterweight" Fight

By Cliff Rold - Scanning the headlines around the boxing news wires, the impact of last Saturday’s Miguel Cotto-Joshua Clottey fight is vibrant in the rhetoric. The victor, Cotto (34-1, 27 KO), retained his WBO belt in his latest war. His promoter, Bob Arum, has made clear what he’d like to see for his man. [details]

Exactly, I'm glad someone else agrees with this subject. Size doesnt win fights as history has showed us. Skills do. Yet a dehydrated fighter will look old and get himself beat against any type of great fighter.

I really hope Cotto and his team don't agree to anything less than 145.

Catchweight fights are bull****. Either come up to 147 or stay at 140 Pacquiao.

Agreed, either fight at 147 or stay the hell at Jr. Welterweight... And how and the hell is Cotto's Welterweight title up for discussion of being on the line in the fight but Pac wants a catchweight? Makes no sense

best article i have read in a while on here. the fight with cotto should take place at the ww limit. if pac loses fighting at 147 it is very respectable and if he wins he would once again make history. needs to happen at 147.

I have always enjoyed reading your articles which are all honest and non biased.....

this is a wake up call for Team Pacquiao to fight the best version of Cotto possible.
