Just for the record, JMM was #2 P4P when Mayweather fought him, Mosley was #3 P4P, and Pacquiao was #2/3 P4P. Plus, Cotto went on to win the lineal MW championship.

Now you can go back to downgrading Mayweather's wins to Calzaghe-RJJ level.

Floyd will never fight Mosely, because Mosely is a beast again now!! Immediately fights and dominates Mosely after JMM.

Floyd will never fight Cotto, and he will for sure never fight him at his best weight!!! Floyd makes a fight with Cotto at 154 about 10 days after Cotto leaves Top Rank. Good fight with Mayweather getting the wide margin of victory.

Floyd will never fight Pacquaio!!! Fights Pacquaio at 147 and nearly shuts him out. But shoulder injuries...LOL

A couple years later you could add Canelo to this list. His haters were begging him to fight Canelo and said he'd never do it, then he does and schools Canelo and he still gets little credit.

Floyd's resume is complete now, there are no glaring omissions from this era, he has fought 10+ HOFers. He has fought and beaten generations of top fighters from Castillo and Corrales to Gatti and Hatton to De la Hoya and Mosely to Pacquaio and Cotto to Ortiz and Canelo. Anyone he didn't fight of note was blasted by one of the fighters he did fight. Tszyu got smoked by Hatton. Margarito was smoked by Mosely, Pacquaio, and eventually Cotto. Cotto destroyed Sergio Martinez who destroyed Paul Williams.

There is no one left to fight.
People just hate it when others are doing good
      Floyd will never get props

Career wise these guys were at or near their peaks, it's simply a subjective assessment to think they were better a couple years before. Cotto has been a monster at 154 and that's where Floyd schooled him. Mosely has destroyed Margarito and was stronger than ever, he almost KOed Floyd. Pacquaio's team spent the last few months talking about how he was better than ever and would shut out or KO Floyd.

Trying to attack Mayweather's resume now is an exercise in futility. At this point his detractors, like his opponents, are really swinging at air. What more do you want at this point, he's fought everyone in this era.

it was within the same stretch of time, however, and they basically fought the same fighter.
          I think he overlooked Trout.

Plus he's confidence was higher against Floyd.

But I don't disagree it was practically the same fighter. He just had a bad night.

floyd was very, very protected for an all time great. his manager, al haymon, pioneered new strategies in protecting fighters in the cable / ppv era. history will look back on this era and acknowledge that.

have you ever noticed how it's always the same people who come into these [mayweather and his little TBE's] threads supporting mayweather? isn't that a bit odd?
            Clarify your last sentance.

            I don't understand.

You aren't allowed to appreciate Floyd's work, it is a bad thing if you really think highly of him. Is what I think he meant to say.

                Cotto - #1 JMW, WBA
                Pacquaio - #1 WW, WBO, #2 P4P
                Ortiz - #2 WW, WBC

And Floyd was past his prime also for basically all of those fights too.

And, it's not like he made the list in 2006. He can't fight them all at the same time.
But you don't recover from a knockout like that. Being tentative against Bradley in the second fight showed me Pac's chin was seriously dented, or at least he has psychological scars from it.

before cotto had taken a beating against manny, lost to austin freaking trout. he had laready taken the margarito beating
before shane had started to really show his age and had a layoff post margarito. we also didn't know that margs had been loading wraps until the shane fight, and how good mosley looked was in part a mirage.
Check his thread in 2011 LOL

Some people do recover from KO's like that. Many don't.

Either way Manny was still universally P4P #2, lowest #3. Can't be too bad if that's the case.

Obviously he was past his best. As is Floyd.

It makes me sad to see The Curious Case of Floyd Mayweather Jr., return.
