Manny Pacquiao is NOW A COUNTER PUNCHER?

I noticed something during the 2nd fight of Pacquiao and Marquez.

Whether its because of Roach teaching him to counter punch or its because of Manny's experience fighting Morales and Marquez, Pacquiao can now counter punch.

    Example 1: Counterpunching the Counterpuncher

Pacquiao faked a jab and as soon as Marquez started countering with a left hook, Pacquiao ducked and threw a huge left of his own. Perfect. Common during Pacquiao's sparring session but rare during his actual fights.

    Example 2: Backpedal Counterpunching

When Marquez moves forward, Pacquiao backpedals for a counterpunch.

    Example 3: Right Hook Counterpunching

In past interviews, Pacquiao said he practiced counter-punching (during Diaz, De la Hoya, Hatton training). So By the time he reaches Hatton, it was so automatic, that when Hatton telegraph his left punch, Pacquiao countered with his right hook roll under move, EVEN BEFORE HATTON PUNCH.

That's almost the same move with Marquez only in reverse. This means only one thing, Pacquiao can now counter punch with both hands.

STRONG RONNIE PRESENCE IN THIS THREAD

    NEWS JUST IN:

BEST P4P BOXER IN THE WORLD HAS DISPLAYED A FEW EXAMPLES OF COUNTER PUNCHING.

The new technique of fighting has only just been invented, credit to Freddie Roach and Filipino Ring Sensation Manny Pacquiao must be given for this incredible addition to boxing as a whole.

He can counterpunch and has definatley got better over the years at it. But he is not a counterpuncher really, you ask him what he'd rather do and he would say he would rather take the fight to his opponent.

For sure. If the opportunity presents itself however, Pacquiao will not hesitate to use this ability.

Manny really has improved through these couple of years. It showed in the Diaz, De La Hoya, and Hatton fight, he don't just stand there like before, he's slick, he now counters(every now and then). I give him props, he's an exciting guy to watch.

pacquiao is the most improved fighter of the decade, the guy is just great. it's like freddie roach's mind (great trainer) has been embedded into him over the years and thats makes him a dangerous mofo with all his physical tools.
