    Glen Johnson overrated?

    IMO, Hell ****in yes!

Seriously, it doesn't matter how you scored his fights with Clinton Woods there was no more than a few rounds in it over all 36 rounds of the fights.

Anyone who fights 36 close rounds with Clinton is NOT an elite fighter. Johnaons a solid pro who can give most a tough night but he's vastly overrated IMO

I scored the first and second fights to Johnson and the 3rd to Woods.

    Thoughts?

I don't even think he is hyped enough, so how is he overrated?

Clinton Woods isn't terrible and Johnson gave Bad Chad hell and holds wins over Jones and Tarver.

How good is bad chad really though? An over the hill Tarver gave him some problems.

Glen Johnson has a 10-12-2 record against fighters ranked in the top 50:

I realize some of those 12 losses were controversial, but if you actually watch the fights, he never really dominated in any of them, except in the late rounds against Dawson. Some he clearly lost, for example the fight with Ottke and one of the three fights with Woods. He should have won the draw with Woods, but most of those losses are legit.

          I agree, he is overrated.

Overrated? nah, I think people understand what he is. He is someone lacking a lot of natural ability, but makes up for it with sound technical skill and constant pressure. Fighters who have plenty of ability and skill but not the heart to match it will be exposed by Glen Johnson.

I know what he is but we hear a lot of people say he takes Nard in a rematch and Calzaghe. So in that sense, i say he's vastly overrated.

I think with Johnson people fall into the trap of thinking every close fight is a robbery. I think Glen and his people have said this so much, and pushed the "hard luck road warrior" persona to the point that they even believe it themselves.

Soure a few of his fights he has gotten jobbed in, but they aren't all robberies like he would have you believe.

I think he is rated just right, I think his jacked up record (due to rough patches in his career when he collected some unnecessary losses) kind of makes some sleep on him and disregard him, but at the same time this myth that he is always getting robbed, and the myth that many of his losses were more circumstance than what happened in the ring, leads others to give him too much benefit of the doubt.

Only crazy nutthuggers say things like that, I think most reasonable fans see Johnson the way I do.....nothing you can do about the delusional ones though.
