There you go, in your opinion. I will have to go back and look at the fight, but I don't feel Dawson won.

Bernard last fought at a catchweight. It was over the SMW limit though and and that is classed as LHW.

This is an internet forum with over a 100,000 users that watch more than just main stream boxing, so if coarse your going to see over-the-top statements. Johnson can't even make a headline fight on HBO or Showtime anymore. He is not overrated.
Ok you wern't trying to make a point, thats fine. It seemed to me you were though and by stating your opinion it pretty much was a point.

      Anywayz LOL!

We hear an awfull lot of posters claim he beats Hopkins and Calzaghe and IMO that is vastly overrating him. I should have been more clear with this in my first post.

Glens a solid top 5 guy, nothing more.

Glencoffe's one of my favourite fighters. Has been for years. But he's not elite. He can give the elite fighters fits at times and has the odd big win on his resume but against quality he usually comes up a little short.

Oh and he didn't beat Dawson. Close but, as often happened, just short even if I was hoping he got the verdict. How has that suddenly become the accepted wisdom? It certainly wasn't the consensus immediately after the bout.

In a showtime poll after the fight over 70% of people thought he had won so thats probably where that comes from, i had it a draw, anway Glen has almost 2 diffrent career's his early career was as a stand off boxer, but he changed his style to become a pressure fighter and was much more succesfull boxrec someone and there record doesnt always tell the full story. Glen is a good fighter but not an ATG or anything i dont really know that many posters on here that overrate him to be honest.

Massively, he has lots of close losses for a reason and it ain't because he keeps being robbed, it's because he's lazy and doesn't put enough effort in to win enough rounds.

For a guy with a crappy Ko rate that's going to lose you a lot of fights.

ofcourse he is, just because he had a close fight with dawson who is a c+ fighter doesnt mean hes good, he makes ******s look bad with his constant whining.

I honestly don't know. Watched the fight again last night - good, tough battle. Johnson won? If you say so...

Johnson only gets overrated by the Calzaghe haters though. JC had to pull out of their fight when Johnson wouldn't postpone the fight for 6 weeks when Joe was having injury and a marital issues. Johnson then got the Jones fight and KO'd him and then he didn't want to know Joe until after he lost again and had nothing to lose again. The haters post that Calzaghe "ducked" or "feared" Johnson because "he knew he would lose" not because they really believe Joe thinks that he would lose to Johnson but because they hate Calzaghe and Joe retiring undefeated as an All-Time great will always bother them.

Johnson is a solid entertaining fighter but he's not ever going to beat a Calzaghe, Hopkins or any other elite fighter IMO. He would give his all against anybody though and true boxing fans respect that quality in a fighter when many just take the paycheck and accept defeat when they're over matched in the ring and guys like Johnson always will make an exciting fight by never accepting defeat and going non-stop until the final bell rings. That's why limited fighters with lot's of heart are so beloved by fans, they will always put on a good show win or lose.
