gatti will probably get in though, in his first year of eligibility more likely than not.....
the guy was entertaining as hell and shed a lot of blood but just didnt have the brain to compete on the elite level....he got drawn into 3 life and death brawls with micky ward for ****s sake, maybe that wouldnt be so bad if he had some big wins over elite fighters to redeem him, but he doesnt.
Why is this even a discussion. No to both, its the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Pretty Good or Hall of Popularity. Being in many fight of the years proves nothing, if you pit two of the same caliber fighters, especially come forward like Gatti and Ward were, you can have those type fights.
No way to either. Gatti though likable always lost to the top level of competition and Tarver's best wins are against fighters who had already beaten him before.
Tarver's noteable wins:
-Roy Jones twice
-Glen Johnson
-Clinton Woods
-Montel Griffin
-Reggie Johnson
-Eric Harding
-Elvir Muriqi
Those are not terrible names at all. His big losses are what even makes this questionable, but his wins is pretty much everyone who Jones and DM didn't beat plus some who they didn't beat. I don't see how based off wins you can say no.
He was also a skilled fighter. Obviously Gatti is not going into the hall imo.
