I wanted to see Oscar at 154 again, but I respect his decision to hang them up. Still a pretty sad day, kind of tough to imagine boxing without Oscar.

he has all his faculties working properly....."solomonic decision". that chapter in his book of life has ended.....but you'll not gonna miss him, he will be there in all future big fyts. he will stay in this sport for as long as he lives.

a fight with tito would've been what the first fight couldn't achieve. tito wouldn't have enough power at 160-165 to KO de la hoya and de la hoya is so old that he won't be able to run away form him this time. it could be a pretty interesting and entertaining fight!

come on lets be honest... ali never ran without punching for 3 rounds

i mean, he did won that fight and all, but that was the worst display of boxing that i've seen in a mega fight

The last three rounds he ran, when he ran out of gas, but the rest of the fight he out-boxed Tito. To say he ran for the whole fight, or that Tito was better overall in that fight, both of which the poster I was replying to said, is ridiculous.

It's the right decision to retire, I'm glad he knows when to bow out.

I dont care if he retires. Honestly he set himself up to lose like he did recently. First he goes up against a prodigy of the sport, a man in terms of technicality can be one of the best ever. Then he kills himself to drop weight and fight the p4p #1 fighter right now. Then he wonders why he feels like quitting.

He is an idiot. For a person who made as much money as he did, he isn't very smart. How many times do you see B-hop cutting to LMW and lower? Or moving up to SMW and higher? None at all. He knows where he should be fighting at and thats where he fights.

Oscar runs around like he wants to be 20 again. He cant do it. If he wanted to win fight your natural weight against guys in your weight class. Thats where he has the best chance to win.

Not dropping to 140 or fighting a prodigy.

his life was a success even his retirement, let's hope that he stays retired,
that would be even better, we would all appreciate that

Oscar was never and never will be a great boxer, but he is one of the greatest fighters of all time... He took the fights, he certainly couldn`t win... He was coming back after his defeats... He was taking beatings and was coming back again and again...

Some say he did that only for money. But this is what boxing is all about They take and give the beating, for us to spend the weekend evenings in an entertaining way

I just hope he would retire and thats it... No Leonard bull****... Now, as he have retired as a boxer, he still is a great promoter of this sport...
