Goodbye to one of the most overrated and over hyped fighters in the history of the sport. Just curious if you can tell that I am not an Oscar fan?

Good luck Oscar, it was great seeing you fight man. I wish not to remember the Manny Pacquiao fight as your last fight, but if you can get past it, then so can the rest of your fans. I know that wasn't the real Oscar that night

That being said, this isn't the last time Oscar laces them up. I'm willing to bet everything I ever own on it. He will come back, he sees SSM, BHop still shining at their advance age. Oscar won't go out with a L. Just a hunch.

            Good luck

He was a great fighter. He deserves credit for his successes, as well as his failures. In my eyes, he split with Mosley, beat Trinidad (and easily no matter how deluded some of you may be). He lost to Sturm, perhaps Pernell but it was close and Ike Quartey was a great fight, where Oscar gutted out the 12th round, a fight that could have gone either way.

He has been great for boxing but in many ways, however late in his career I believw he held up the sport's natural evolution, with respect to limited the exposure of some of the younger fighters, based on who and when Oscar decided to fight however, he will be remembered for being a true star post Sugar Ray Leonard.

You're truly one of the greatest fighters of all times.

                    Thank You!

Say what you want about "el nino de oro" oscar changed the face of boxing. He was the reason why we spent the thousands and hundreds on tickets and the 49.99 ppv's. We loved to see him win and we loved to see him lose. Oscar is a fighter that took over a fan base that only ali or tyson can compare. Under some circumstances he was under the eye of scandles both personally and finacially, however it still did not stop us from watching him work his craft. And it was like "poetry in motion" the left hook that knock out vargas, mayorga, quartey, gatti, ruelas and even made the legendary julio ceasar chavez take a page out of roberto durans book and say "no mas". Never would i've thought that oscar would've done the same 13 years later, however when you have the millions in the bank and the greatest promotion company bearing your name, i can see why it will be hard to to try to continue something that has been your life, when down deep in side you know it can't be done. I'm only 25 years old and i've seen the greatest in basketball play in michael jordan, the greatest of wrestling wrestle in hulk hogan, and the greatest boxer of my time fight in oscar de la hoya! We can only thanked him now, no need to boo him...only for taking those fish net pictures though! Lmao!

DLH's the reason I started watching boxing when I was young. Thanks for the great fights.
