Valero needs the chance to make a statement, even if some people don't see him as deserving it. I mean, who the hell was Pacquiao before the first Barrera fight anyway.

I think he's earned it just as much as David Diaz or Solis have earned a shot at Pacquiao. I'd like to see him face Marquez next, or at least Guzman since both are undefeated.
I think he's earned it too and like I said his time will come. The lightweight division is loaded so he won't be short of anyone to fight. The question is will it be a name big enough for people to stand up and think this guy is serious. Only time will tell but just remember this guy is fairly young.

Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

        I'm looking forward to it!

i watched the fight valero vs pitalua... i wasnt shocked by the outcome and i wasn't too impressed although valero has huge upside.... he seems to have very little head movement when he drops his left right before he throws it and leaves himself too open for a counter, which marquez would punish him with, hopefully valero steps it up but right now, there's no way he beats pac or JMM

how bout we hope to see Katsidis vs valero?? that'd be a good stepping stone before he talks pac or JMM

                Marquez would eat him alive.

He probably would, but if Valero connects early, it could look like the 1st round of Pac-Marquez 1, only JMM wouldn't get up.

No one I don't think, is questioning that Pac and JMM are better boxers.
But the x factor is that early mind numbing power of Valero that they have to be wary of.

Pacman's power is quite mind numbing itself at featherweight

Marquez may go down, but he always gets up one more time

i could see Valero catching him a few times early on, maybe putting him down, then Marquez's clean, crisp, hurtful counters to the body and chin taking their toll after about 4, 5 rounds and Valero being sparked unconscious eventually

They never seem to stay up against Valero though
I agree if it goes past 3, JMM would counter him silly but the first couple of rounds when JMM always seems to start slow could be very dangerous.
