O the irony coming from Tito lovers.

tito was illegally wrapping with a legal substance, if was the manner he was wrapping them that got him issues, NOT using a substance that is leathal as well as deadly.

You can compare it in terms of what was alleged, just not in terms of what was proven. This is what Fisher and Hopkins alleged at the time in an interview with Ron Heard:

Tito was made to remove his glove and the prior wrapping in front of Hopkins representative Naazim Richardson who noticed that the wrap looked very thick and when he felt it he says it was as hard as a rock. All the sudden it became very clear why they had tried to get away with wrapping the left hand without anyone from the Hopkins camp watching and also why they didn't want to remove it and rewrap the hand.

Don Felix began to rewrap the hand again, but Richardson noticed that Don Felix was putting layers of tape and then gauze, tape and then gauze, tape and then gauze which is not in accordance with NYSAC rules. The rules stipulate tape cannot be applied directly over the knuckles, and that repeating the process several times (is not permitted).

In an interview with Bernard Fernandez of Philly.com, Hopkins said, "If you put on tape, then gauze, then tape, then gauze, it's like a [plaster] cast. It's like being hit with a baseball bat. I'm giving out some secrets here, but you can dip your hands in ice water and that tape will, like, marinate and become harder.

OTH, Don Felix denied all that and said he wrapped his hands as he did to create a "pillow", to protect Tito's hand; and said that far from creating a plaster-like effect, "this tends to take away some of the power in the punch." He also claimed to have been unaware that the way he was wrapping it was against the rules.

It should have been investigated at the time, and got to the bottom of one way or the other. But unfortunately, it wasn't.

You can say any thing you want about Titos wrap and believe me its very far away from Margrs situation, plus their complaints were about to much gauze not tape and if Hopkins didn't believe in Titos power, then why he stay away from him and why Winky and Roy didn't want to trade with the smaller and slower man

I don't need to believe you or anyone else, I just look at the facts.

The fact is that it is far away from Margarito's situation, because nothing was proved in Tito's case. Tito was proved to have incorrectly wrapped hands (which is all they mean by "illegal wraps"), but nothing more. However, in terms of what was alleged by Fisher, it is not far away from Margarita's case at all. Fisher alleged that the way his hands were illegally wrapped turned his hands into lethal weapons, comparable with the effect of plaster in the wraps. That is a very serious allegation, which should have been investigated and wasn't. If the allegation was unfounded, then it would have been in Tito's interests for it to be investigated, because it would have cleared his name.

Those three fighters have never taken an unnecessary punch from anyone in their entire careers. That's a silly argument.

At the end of the day, Cotto's still going on to becoming one of the sport's greats while Margarito has become a disgrace to the sport.

I agree on all points, but the question was is cotto afraid of margo. it's a possibility.

That's probably what you're hoping to think, but it's very doubtful.

It's not as if Cotto fought a terrible fight and didn't perform well at all. For a good portion of the fight it looked like a schooling in favor for Cotto. If it were a case where Cotto couldn't land anything and was being beat up all night I could probably see where Cotto wouldn't want a rematch.

Bottom line, it comes down to principles which is where Cotto and the rest of the Boxing world is coming from. You can't just go ahead and sanction a fight with a cheater just because the opposing fighter wants revenge. That's some kid ****. We're talking about loads of money, sanctions, reputability of the sport, which Margarito deserves none of.
