Boxing Videos (2-25-08) interview of Cotto asked about different fighters and about Mayweather (thats for people who say that he is duckin or was duckin Mayweather)...

On the other hand.. just thought about this... everytime Cotto is going to fight a "Most Feared" fighter we noticed that he fights a weaker person which people say that it gives him too much confident which it may be most likely true. In My Opinion, its all planned out by Arum. Arum wants him to lose because its almost the end of his contract with Top Rank so nobody else will be interested in Cotto, therefore he gets Re-signed by Top Rank so they can keep winning money with him. I Dont know but that is how it seems to me, Arum is a real smart business man which should die already for (In My Eyes) being so greedy and messed up to his fighters, just like he wanted Mayweather to lose bad but he didnt get that wish come true, Mayweather up and bounced from Top Rank, which was a smart a** move by Mayweather, props to him for that.

Also another subject that concerns me is that, isnt it almost MID MARCH??? Where are the results of the HANDWRAPS taken from Margarito's Camp? What is going on with that side of the story? They said that to die out the topic and subject by also putting up other great fights and news about other boxers, but I (and im pretty sure hundreds, maybe thousands) want to know the real story and news found behind the wraps once tried to put on the ring by Margarito and his camp. We or somebody needs to POST A THREAD about this to tell the Boxing World that we haven't forgotten about the MAJOR controversy once played and still a big one now TODAY!! WE WANT TO KNOW SOMETHING DAMMIT. STOP TRYING TO HIDE IT AND BRING IT OUT. WE HAVENT FORGOTTEN.

Hahaha, good post, but IMO he is just trying to be humble, not a **** talker and call out names randomly about people, but he do say "its up to the promoter" which if they do choose a fight then its done. Though on the Interview that i put up there found on this site on 2-15-08 about Cotto, he says that he doesnt know whats Mayweathers business about not fighting (i dont know exacly why he said that, but IMO they tried to set a fight but didn't happen for some reason), he even said that he will beat Mayweather, not hatin, not puttin Mayweather down but this goes both ways, obviously Cotto is humble and just goes on wit anyone who they put in front of him. On the other hand, when was this interview done?

I remember seeing the whole interview but can't remember exactly what date but it is clearly after the Zab fight & I think it may have been after Baldomir going towards the fight with Oscar.

Floyd was on top of the Pyramid, why would Floyd have to challenge the challenger when he was the CHAMP of the whole division? Having people speak for you in boxing in regards to who you should fight is NO excuse and clearly people have been making that excuse for Cotto for not calling out Floyd but Crucifying Floyd for not wanting to fight Miguel Cotto? That's what we call a double standard. I knew Cotto NEVER wanted none when I saw his face at the Gatti fight when Floyd dismantled Arturo. Cotto didn't even want to look in the camera, Jim Lampley said "Miguel Cotto could be Floyd Mayweather's next opponent but not sure Cotto is ready". This is Video documented proof that Floyd threw the hat in the ring PUBLICLY & Cotto side stepped.

Mayweather TALKS. What he says doesn't line up, so it causes controversy.
He does it to promote himself.

Don't be selective as to what Cotto said. In addition to what you posted he also said:
"We’re rivals,” “Mayweather is a star of the sport and we’re in the same company. Mayweather was a great champion at 130 and 135. We don’t know about 140. When the company says the time is right to make the fight, I’ll fight him. I think it's a good fight. I know Mayweather's a great fighter. But I know I can beat him."


Go ahead and defend your favorite boxer. But while you do it, don't even TRY coming down on Cotto to elevate Floyd. Cause Cotto's still in the game and willing to fight ANYONE. Where's Mayweather? "Retired" - which is a clever way of defending himself OUTSIDE the ring.

Main point: Cotto's not ducking.

I think people expect Cotto to be Trinidad and be vocal about who he wants to fight, but that's never been his style.He doesn't much care for the limelight and really looks at Boxing as his job.

Anyone would be crazy to think Floyd easily walks over Cotto, but there's nothing that they can really do that's going to get under his skin to entice some type of drama which Floyd is king at. The worst thing Cotto probably does is just rebut with "We will have to see come fight night"

Yeah, he doesn't know what he is talking about. Clottey certainly doesn't lack speed; his hands are very quick. He isn't a big puncher though and his stamina is decent.

i agree. he's no ko artist, but he can bust and bruise your face if you let him.

problem is, he's too open to the body... add to that a terrific body puncher like cotto and his average stamina and he's done (at least on a decision)
