Mr Personally I do not think Hagler was past his prime before the ray fight.
Ray Leonard can say what he wants to say but that doesnt mean it is true...Is ray leonard now the arbiter of who is in their prime and who is not???

Ali called Frazior all kind of bums before they fought, does that mean frazior was a bum????

I think that this specfic argument is going to go nowhere so instead of going back and fourth...
do you honestly believe Floyd is the only fighter to retire in his prime? and if so, why hate on the man for that... Why does boxing have to decide when a fighter has to retire or not...

Floyd has done something that hardly nobody has ever done.
Walk away from the sport on top, and people cant stand it.
He is like barry sanders in that reguard.
He left when they was no doubt who the best was and is.

Their is no unfinish business, because their are no undisputed champions out there to fight. Floyd retired a undisputed champion. undisputed...meaning everybody reconize him as the man.

The only fight that makes sense right now is Pacquaio. because he is the pound 4 pound #1 fighter in the sport.

I say floyd only comes back to fight Pacquaio or a undisputed champion in a division.

    PERIOD.
Man...I don't know why I bother. I don't know why anyone bothers with you. Hagler was slipping - if the Mugabi fight isn't proof to you then the Leonard should be. In both those fights it was obvious he no longer had the legs or hand speed he once did.

You act like the generation ended or something just because Floyd retired. Don't make me laugh. We'll see whether or not he's the best of his generation when the rest of his generation retires too. Then we can compare. Otherwise Manny Pacquiao might disagree with that nonsense you spittin. Furthermore, I don't even know what generation you're referring to when both Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins are rightfully rated higher than Floyd. You better pray Pacman doesn't do what Floyd couldn't: ie, clean out welterweight. We might not hear from you for a long, long time.

His legacy is at 130-135. but that don't change the fact that he shoulda fought top WW's, and still should if he comes back.

I'm still waiting for you to pick apart my post.

And I don't hate Floyd. I think he's a joy to watch. A great fighter for sure. He earned his right to quit any time he wants. But his legacy will and must suffer accordingly. No I dont hate Floyd, but the nuthugging by Floydlovers is nausing (spelling).

I loved watching Floyd and his technical brilliance, but since I joined this forum I cant help it, but there's some devil inside me wanting him to lose just to get nuthuggers like you to STFU and see his accomplishments in a bit broader scale.

If you can watch Hagler against Leonard and then tell me that was the same Hagler that was absolutely anhilating guys like Fuli Obel and Hamsho 5 or 6 years earlier then wow, just wow.

So if Floyd fought Cotto, It would Enhance His legecy to what...?

                "Greatest of His Generation"....?
                -Guess What?

                He already is....
As far as the weight issue...Floyd is a Welterweight...plain and simple. He fights at 147lbs (and walks around 160-165 according to Roger). He's not fighting at 140-130 again. JMM and Pacquiao are not regulars at 147 lbs. He's the bigger guy, period. He matches Cotto, Mosley, Berto, and Clottey much better. Now that's not to say Pac or JMM wouldnt fight Floyd...but you can't tell me Floyd has an even size match up against those guys and isn't sized up right against a Cotto or Mosley.

Nobody is denying his accomplishments, I think you're trying to lay that out a little too much to try and justify your point. But at the end of the day, it's your opinion because obviously you're going to vouch for him.

Now when you talk about the term "Generation" you can't base it on a 10 year stretch solely on the length of one fighter's career (which you're doing). You have to include all fighters that are still active, began fighting, and retire within the same time frame which can span the last 20-25 years. Floyd is up there, but its up for debate with names like Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones still being relevant during Floyd's campaign.

you acting like Leonard is not 10 times greater than Hamsho and obel...Of course Hagler is not going to do to leonard what he did to Hmasho...DId you expect him too????WTF is wrong with your logic....

Hagler was never going to look good against Leonard period.....that doesnt meaned he was out of his prime..!!!

LMAO! That's exactly how I felt about Calzaghe. I loved watching him fight before I joined these boards. Then I wanted the prick to lose.

Same with Floyd. Love Floyd - was hyping him up before he even sniffed a title shot. But I call a spade a spade. Some call it a heart .

If you cannot understand that Hagler was past it when he fought Leonard you really shouldn't be posting here. Go to PBF's homepage. I'm sure he has a forum just for you.
