He sucks
All you weather fans im sorry but your hero has no balls. He decides to quit when the welter weight division is at its best, thanks to the greatest fighter in the division and the one that made it happen the great mexican champ ''chavez''. That is the only reason this division is kicking right now.

Boxing is an escape from the real world issues, I believe this is true even today.

If the fight can be big enough, money will be spent to make it even bigger, because everybody gets a %. So the larger the pie the better the number you end up with. HBO knows this, promoters know this.
I am sure HBO get theirs though.
I am not talking about every fighter I am talking about Floyd Mayweather, he is at the pinnicle of the sport. If you can not bring in big money, it is best to keep your mouth shut and get paid what you can get paid.
How many fighters in the last 15 years had PPV that did over 300k buys. Take out the heavyweights (also Floyd's fights but can add them in if you wish) and you got Tito, Roy Jones, Oscar, Pacman, JMM, Cotto, Margarito, B-Hop. How many did it more then once?
This is not UFC where fighter do not get paid a proper % of revenue, in boxing main event guys get paid very well compared to the money be taken in.
Mayweather is not a household name except among hardcore fans. If everything you say is true, why aren't GBP and Arum jumping at the chance to make all that money? There is a lot more to the buisness aspect of this than you know.
