As far as Hagler...everyone knows he retired early ater the SRL fight, so its open to speculation if he would have moved up or not eventually.

He was already past his peak when he fought SRL. And because of his frame type, it's very unlikely he'd have been as good at LHW as Hopkins is; but he was better than Hopkins at Middleweight (in most people's opinions), and most boxing experts would rate him higher than Hopkins in ATG P4P lists.

People keep going on about how Hatton can't move to 147, Knocking him. Well Cotto can't move anywhere either. He can't make 140 anymore and he cant fight above 147.

Hatton is a 140 fighter, simple as that.

It says they are special in terms of the specific ability to move up in weight, but that ability is based on frame type rather than general fighting ability, and that ability to move up in weight doesn't affect their P4P rankings in practice (if it did, The Ring would rate Williams higher than Hatton and they don't).

The principle I was trying to illustrate is the same whether you agree that Hopkins would have beaten Hagler at LHW or not. The point is, the fact that a lot of experts do think he would have beaten Hagler at LHW doesn't alter the fact that the same experts mostly rate Hagler higher than Hopkins P4P.

Cotto knocks Hatton in out @ 140,145 & 147, EASILY!!! Cotto is a beast with the heart of a warrior. Collazo I think beat ricky and that was at 140. I like ricky hatoon dont get me wrong great fighter but Cotto will just be too much for Hatton... I think Cotto should unify with Berto in june. That will be a good one both styles are made for each other..

Hatton can't beat Cotto in any weight, he's overated, he beat a old tszyu a pounded castillo, collazo kicked his ass and almost KO him, and collazo don't have the power that cotto have. He should figth another overated "Andre Berto".

Lol. Jennings is cool and is supporting his countryman. No shame in that. I don't think Cotto would try to make 140 though. Didn't Cotto's handlers already say that the lowest he'd go was 144? He definitely wouldn't go to 140. Cotto will be a lifer at Welterweight from here on out.

I think it's worse losing to a guy on a bicycle like Mayweather (who continually avoided the best at 147) than it is to lose to a man far too large for Welterweight with plaster bricks in his gloves like Margarito.

Don't forget that Cotto boxed Margie's face off when his own wasn't artificially busted.

There is no shame in either losing the way Cotto did, or in losing to the fighter every boxing expert without exception rated at the time as the P4P #1. Cotto is a very good fighter at 147, and may become a great one; same is true of Hatton at 140.
