Before a fight, both fighters trainers have the right to view the other fighters hands before they put the gloves on. So to question his entire career when every opponent has had a chance to see his hand-wraps is tough. Bernard did the same to Tito and nothing ever came of it.

Cotto's face

After the Cotto/Margarito fight I noticed that Cotto's face had looked a mess. His face looked like it was swollen all over and he was forced to quit. Something had to have been wrong with those handwrapps. I remember saying to myself "look at Cotto's face!!" He had never looked like that after any other fight he had been in. He looked like Meldrick Taylor after the first Chavez fight. Chavez may have even had something in his gloves, who knows. I wonder if Cotto's trainer did a good job of analyzing Margarito's handwraps before the fight.

Out of that list you named 1 decent fighter (Cintron) & 1 great fighter (Cotto)....and that win is coming into question.

How do you call Cintron a decent fighter but dismiss all the other guys as nothing? All that shows is that you don't even know them.

They're all champions and some a lot better than Cintron has shown so far. Clottey is and has been an elite fighter. He was screwed big time against Baldomir for his first title many years ago and has been thoroughly avoided since though has at least won his title now.

Diaz has beaten such big names as Cory Spinks, Lucero, Micky Ward, Ivan Robinson, Alberto Cortes etc etc.
Margarito is the only guy to have beaten by Martinez in over 45 fights. Lewis was a good champ a few years back. Randall another good fighter from few years ago.

Bagging out a bunch of champs as no legacy is pretty sad mate.

honestly i think its pretty weird how everyone is hating on margo before anything is proven.....especially since guys like vargas-shane-toney have all cheated(toney more than once) and no one has questioned their past fights as much as margarito's are being questioned now........

True, but with roids you only harm yourself...your legacy, your body. If plaster was used, it can cause permanent brain damage or even kill more so than your fists would. Extra hate may also come from the response to "Mexico vs the world" mentality that "some" Chicanos run with, and also Margarito lacks some rudimentary skills like ducking punches, fighting tall, using your jab, etc.

its not that no one question their past but if you get caught cheating your respect an integrity of the sport goes out the window.I highly respected Margarito but since alot of guys have been caugth cheating Margo cnt be excempt from it.An about innocent until proven guilty?? Well if there is sum thing wrapped around your hand other than hand wraps or in between like in Margos case then sum thing is wrong with that picture.Now you tell me if it aint guilty until he can prove his innocense!!!!

You're right, I guess every other fighter that had a bloody face had an opponent with loaded gloves. Gatti must have fought a ton of dirty ass fighters cuz his face was always a mess. This is b.s. if Margarito had plaster in his gloves he deserves anything he gets but lets stop hating on Margarito he's not the most skillfull fighter but he's got huge heart, good power and a good chin. I don't recall this kind of outrage when Tito's hands had to be rewrapped against hopkins, nobody questioned his previous fights.

No ****, he'll never have Mayweather Jr., Marquez type of skill, but he's a tough motherfu#ker and thats what us fans of Margarito love about him.

Can't let this pass roids do make stronger muscles right? Thats why its cheating, its an unfair advantage. Obviously its not on the same agregious level as loaded gloves but to dismiss this is to add to the flames on this story. Mexicans support Mexicans just like any other non Americans support their country-men(i.e. Ricky Hatton fans). To many American and Puerto Rican fans Margarito is a threat because he has gotten to this point based on determination and toughness, he's not a coddled athlete, and does not posses those great natural skills that alot of other boxers have. He broke Cotto's will and alot of fans(Jim Lampley) still can't deal with their great warrior taking a knee. If he did cheat however he needs to pay.
